Never Ending Fourm needs a new name: The Creative Edition

To my fellow creators:

Let us workshop some actual creative suggestions that represent the forum.

Here are the rules:

1) Name must indicate that this forum is a creative outlet of many formats

2) Please provide the logic behind the name so that we know that you actually put some thought into it and to provide insight on your creative choice.

3) If you cannot come up with a name please work with others in tweaking theirs if you think you can improve it upon it. It will assist with insight that others may not have originally seen.

4) Please only make two suggestions per person. If you want to edit your suggestions, do so.


The Process:

There are two types of suggestions: Working and Official

Working Suggestions are asking others to assist in improving their suggestion if they feel they need it or would like more time to think about an official suggestion. Labeled as: WORKING: (Your suggested name)

Official Suggestions are ones that you feel are good enough to go up to the vote. Labeled as: OFFICIAL: (Your suggested name)

If you like an official suggestion, please quote it in a reply with the word "Seconded" underneath. This places this suggestion on the list.

This thread will be close for suggestions on Friday September 4th, 2007 all "Seconded" suggestions will go to a poll.

Together we can find a better more creative name. Let's do it.

OFFICIAL: imagineNATION

This suggestion was work shopped in the original thread. I believe it adds a creative zing as well as making obvious that this is an outlet for artists. "imagine" lead people to believe that they are using their creative outlets and "NATION" will combine us together as one unit of creators. I believe imagineNATION is quite apt for this forum.

Remember, your suggestions must actually be able to convey the content of this forum, which is the main reason ImagineNation didn't cut it last time. You need to think how somebody not familiar with the name might react. Possible confusions for example: Imagine is fine, but imagine... nation? Does 'nation' really convey anything about writing and drawing? Maybe once the reasoning has been explained, but that's the same problem with 'Never Ending Forum'. Without the explanation, couldn't it be a political discussions board? etc etc. What is someone looking at the forum listings for the first time going to think this forum is about, from its title?

I don't mean to slam here, just describing the difficulties we had in honestly evaluating some of last rounds' suggestions.

This name doesn't really cover that there are also writers here as well. Although I guess you could use the term as meaning "idea on the drawing board" but some people may just think of it as the literal drawing board.

While the official choices have already been made for the finals, if any name that comes up during this process actually meets the criteria that Jonah wants for the new name, it will be taken under consideration.

That said, I'd suggest bumping up your timeline, otherwise the decision will probably have already been made.

What time line would you like to impose? We will go with that.

Also people, please edit your posts to show as "Working" or "Official". They will not be eligible for consideration otherwise unless someone makes it their official. Also please go to the OP and read the method.

First, there is more artists than writers posting there stuff here.

Second, as it stands now.

I'm going to go ahead and just say it. If you're a writer, and can't read that, then I don't think anyone would want to read what you've written anyway. ;)
