I don't think that we were talking about Sting and Rogue's dragon lachrima having the other's element. Just different elements in general. And we don't really know if darkness magic and light magic would react as you suggested. They might as well just clash.

We'll have to wait and see. I think that I want to see Rogue's abilities the most. His stats are better, he's the first dragon slayer to carry around a weapon and I like his design more than Sting's.

Rogue is probably Darkness, which might be literally Shadow control, or Miasma or Poison, or some other kind of dark energy.

The D&D in me makes me think Sting is Cold/Ice element.

Also, something I noticed upon re-reading the last few chapters.

The grand magic games of the year X791 are going to end on the seventh of July. 14 years after the disappearance of the Natsu, Gajeel and Wendy's dragon parents.

Ironically, Mashima's been miswriting it as X793 for the last couple chapters (It's not a translation flub either; the raws also show X793 in big bold digits. Hopefully he remembers to fix this for the volumes.)

On the anime side, the filler arc seems to be alternating between good and crap each week. This week was crap

Alexei is Ivan in disguise, or possibly Ivan's thought projection, like the double Jeral from way back when. Some kind of really powerful illusion makes all of the audience perceive a big battle where Laxus is getting his ass kicked while really they are just talking. While everyone else only perceives a one on one, all 5 of Raven Tail plan to tag team Laxus. Fairy Tail A vs. Lamia Scale is coming up.

Shouldn't Erza be able to see through that illusion with her artificial eye? (Or not... it didn't work on Gerard or the Nirvit either, somehow.)

Also, a better explanation of Memory Make. Should be interesting to see what limits it has.

I'm surprised if there's seriously nobody (else?) in the stadium who can see through the illusion though. What about Mavis?

I can't recall the nature of the illusion, but if it was something like, an illusion directly imprinted on your eyes vs. an illusion projected for everyone to see. Or he's just that good. If his illusions are on the level of the guy that created Cait Shelter, or something towards that end.

Still... even if only Mavis and Erza could see through the illusion, they can't do anything. No one would believe them, or something.

The newest episode isn't bad or good really. It just kind of is.

Lots of fun with magical temple traps and what not.

Kind of lame and some weirdness with Gray having moments of acting cute.

I have sorta high hopes for the next episode considering who they're fighting.
