This level of twin-tailed, mini-skirted jailbait must not be allowed to coexist in the same 10 feet, less the entire capital be crushed into a singularity at the point of their meeting.
This is the evil Knight Captain's plan. The giant door and the Celestial Spirit Keys? Misdirection. All Misdirection I say!

New chapter is out.
Ok then. We didn't go into the battle part at once. Well played Mashima.
I quite like this chapter. It provided a few "oh shit moments" for me.
Raven Tail keeps things secret and whatever they're planning Obra has a big part in it. And the dude looks freaking creppy when he smiles. It seems like they have an insider in the tournament administration.
I'm happy that Jura's power is so damn overwhelming even when compared to one of Sabertooth's power houses.
And Cana gets to do something awesome for once.
The preview for next chapter promises something quite awesome and interesting. Even if it feels a bit early for that match-up.
LOL, Mavis
Kinda disappointed the judges still went for a tiebreaker, but alright.
You don't suppose Raven Tail's still after Luxus's DS lachryma? It can't be all they're after though.

It was a good callback to have Cana use Fairy Glitter again. She got to do something cool and have an overpowering victory that made sense for her, since she'd already been granted that ability once (especially since the first time it didn't do much).
Checking up the scores tells us that Raven Tail is still in the lead followed with Lamia Scale on second place and Sabertooth in third. Fairy Tail A and Mermaid Heel are sharing the fourth place. As far as tournaments go I'm actually kind of enjoying how this one is going. It's all back and forth and that keeps it exciting and all the other plots surrounding it are working out too. Yep, I've come to really enjoy this arc.

Pretty cool chapter. :D
Cana just rocked in this chapter. I'm hoping she's developed into an even stronger warrior. I'm hoping the First entrusts Fairy Glitter to her permanently. All I can say is that its about time.
She's no longer a Ten Ten.
Sometimes you lose things which you don't expect losing. It doesn't make the hurt any less.
Honestly, while I'm alright with what Erza did, it might have been kinda cool if Cana had done something similar to this in the previous chapter: After everyone else finished taking on a few monsters at a time, Cana claims all the remainders for herself and just nukes Pandemonium with Fairy Glitter at the start of the fight/from outside. If Luxus was there instead, he'd use Fairy Law for the same deal.

A little thing I've been thinking about here.
We all know that the number seven is important and that it's probably intertwined with the mystery of the dragon slayers.
So far we have five official "real" dragon slayers, as in dragon slayers raised by dragons. Natsu, Gajeel, Wendy, Sting and Rogue. If we're sticking to the theme of 7 I'm wondering if we won't get at least two more dragon slayers of this type. The reason Mashima gave us artifical dragon slayers might be so that he could create more beyond that number
Then there's the whole theory about Zeref being a dragon slayer with Acnologia as his dragon parent. If that turns out to be true we might get just one more "real" dragon slayer".
I wonder what element(s) the last one/two might be. Then again I really want to know what Sting and Rogue eat first.
I have mixed feelings on this chapter. On one hand, loli guild master is best guild master.
On the other hand... Cana get your own thing.
Like seriously, you have one of the top three techs of your guild and.... what? That's right we have never seen you have full fight in the series. Finishing moves are for people who have other moves in the first place. I don't mind if you're useless, but don't have your claim to fame be something that's not really yours.
Their nicknames might be a clue... Shadow Dragon and White Dragon could mean they are darkness/light elements.
The other thing to bring up is...
Sting and Rogue were raised by dragons, but also have artifical dragon slayer lacrima in their bodies. Which makes me wonder if the lacrima is just for a power boost... or if gives them a second element. Which seems kind of hax, but it's a possibility.
I've been considering that too. I can kind of imagine a light dragon slayer but a shadow dragon slayer is trickier.
It's a possibility but I'm thinking that the different elements might clash or something and it just be less effective.
Also, something I noticed upon re-reading the last few chapters.
The grand magic games of the year X791 are going to end on the seventh of July. 14 years after the disappearance of the Natsu, Gajeel and Wendy's dragon parents.
