I dunno. It would be hilarious if even Evil Zeref has no idea who all those chucklefucks trying to 'help' him are.

If that really happened people would complain.

You could put that sentence after every single possibility that the story could follow.

I'll admit Zeref is a refreshingly unique Big Bad in that he's had "unwanted minions" so far.

minion: "Lord Zeref. Everything is going according to plan. Soon the world will be yours!"

Zeref: "Excuse me? Do I know you? How did you get in here?"

minion: "Yes! Soon your presence shall be felt in the souls of all things! I shall go kidnap the stellar mage at once!"

Zeref: "Wait. Wait. Wait. First some questions need to be answered first. First, who the hell are you? Second, when the hell did I even ask you to do this. Third-"

minion: "Yes my lord! I shall waste no time carrying out your will!" **runs out**

Zeref: "Just WTF!"

I'll admit Zeref is a unique Big Bad so far in that he's had "unwanted minions" so far.

He's basically evil's equivalent of Robert Pattison.

Deliora would be his trainwreck of a kid (think Nicole Richie, but with less death and destruction in his wake), while Erigor is basically someone that searches E-Bay for teacups Zeref used.

The latest anime ep was surprisingly good in both action and humor. The writers almost got through the big fight without jobbing anyone too hard, except Lily and Mirajane.

One nitpick: Mary Hughes's magic is cheaper than Voodoo and Human Subordination, and those were both Lost Magics. (OTOH it's arguably less cheap than Rock of Succubus, which came first.)

Except if Gemma beats him up, and then the arc goes, and then Sabretooth fights Fairy Tail and all is lost and then Makarov beats up on Gemma a bit, but can't fully beat him, so he gives some magic power to Natsu and then Natsu finishes him off... you know, like what happened with Purehito, sort of... that would be even worse.

Natsu beating Gemma now would be a major curveball. It's already a given the tournament isn't going to end properly due to the whole Eclipse conspiracy.

I know it won't happen, but if anything is more cliché than a character getting mad and beating a villain, it's a character getting mad, trying to take on a villain, getting beat up, and then getting powerup/training later that arc and beating him at the end of it.

Cliche? Ok...... I think I can fix that. Here are some ideas.





#1. Gemma and Natsu go at it in a awesome brawl. Natsu catches a epic beat down but because of Gemma's carelessness and or arrogance Natsu was able to wound him in such a way that will pay dividends latter on.

I actually don't think that we'll get that scenario. Mainly because Gemma isn't the main antagonist in this arc. At best he's got like third place to Ivan (second place) and the Zeref fanboys (first place).

I do think after whatever happens in this confrontation, I'm still betting that Makarov jumps in to interrupt the whole thing, it will be that much more personal for Fairy Tail to beat Sabertooth and prove that family trumps power and stuff like that. That said, I would not mind seeing Makarov go kaijuu and stomp Gemma's ass into the ground later on.

I actually don't think that we'll get that scenario. Mainly because Gemma isn't the main antagonist in this arc. At best he's got like third place to Ivan (second place) and the Zeref fanboys (first place).

I believe that Raven Tail is being set up for the future, and won't have a massive impact on this arc once the fanatics get their Lucy plot on.

I'm not sure where Sabretooth will fit into the algorithm of foes.

A pretty short one it is covering Natsu's attack on Sabertooth. He does pretty damn well but I personally would've liked to see a bit more destruction after his rampage. What we see here looks like the kind of stuff that he could pull off before the time-skip and if they all did get a power-up I would like to see it show.

It says a lot that he wasn't pushed back by the guild master and even managed to surprise him with the ferocity of his attack, although that guy looked pretty much unscathed in the end.
