I was actually a little surprised at two points.

Shimon taking the hit and Natsu's new power up.

Let's see what Gerad has that can stand up to this.

Yeah, even with the meteor ability I don't think that Gerad has what it takes to keep up with Lucci in speed or strength.

You know, I remeber back in chapter 7 those mercenaries were saying that mage's physical durability tended to be lacking compared to trained fighters. We have yet to see any mage that fits that.

I was looking back through the manga, and It seems that Sieglien/Gerard has had an interest in Natsu for a while. Considering he was willing to kill Erza, it seenms he'd be willing to use Natsu instead. So is Natsu approaching the level of the Mage council?

Or maybe he knows something about the disappearance of the dragons.

And I don't think that Natsu is closing in to Mage council level. He needed a power-up to hurt Gerard.

I remember back in the earlier parts of the manga someone saying that Natsu still had a large part of his power still untapped. Maybe that yet unused power cab put him at, or near magic counsil level magic user.

I'm thinking Dragon Slayer's digestive tracts are super durable. That would explain his taking the bullet to the mouth and apparently now just eating pure energy.

This seems to be more of a temporary power up though.

Next week's chapter has me scared.
