You know, I'm actually a bit more worried about Cana than Gildartz at the moment. What with Charle's prediction and all that, which I was clearly reminded of after today's anime episode.
I'm rather looking forward seeing this arc animated.

Acnologia continues the unique dragon designs. But I kinda like it, and its nice to see such individual looks among the dragons since Igneel is fairly classic.
Even though Zeref was not actually sealed, I kinda like that he isn't what the myths and legends say he was, because that's something often true in real life when it comes to demonizing something from history. The "Dark lord" schtick is done straight so often that its always refreshing to see something a little different: in this case, I think Zeref may have had very little to do with directly unleashing bad shit and it may be that he is just a conduit or some other means of attracting/directing Acnologia, who is the actual destroyer. In fact, its probably still likely that Zeref is actually Acnologia's counterpart Slayer, but we'll see.
Since a whole page was dedicated to Wendy deciding to try and make nice with Laxus and there was no comedy routine following, I imagine that means a future chapter will make that an important thing. I imagine it will be something like this:
Fried: Laxus-Sama, you have come back to us!
Laxus: NO. I have still wronged this guild and must not come back.
Erza: We're kinda past all that now; why don't we talk with Master to see about letting you back in for helping us with Hades.
Laxus: No, I still don't feel redeemed, and until I do I...
Wendy: Hi, I'm Wendy, I'm new here and...
