Cobra vs. Natsu was very well done in the anime.

So much so, that damn, I need to go reread those chapters, because was Cobra always that badass?

The fight was extended overall, and they added bits of him being friendlier with Cuberios. He's always been broken-as-hell, but I think the anime did a good job of showing it off.

The fact that we could actually hear the roar also made that part seem better.

I kinda imagined it with more full-blooded roaring and less white noise, but oh well.

Edit: In related news, by God, that's a spoileriffic new OP. Alot of shots directly from the manga. Normally they'd save those for the actual episodes.

As a matter of fact, if we assume that the term 'Godslayer' in this manga follows the conventions of Dragonslayer, then just as the Dragonslayers are essentially avatars of the power of an actual dragon, Zancrow might be the avatar of the power of an actual god...

Oog... I'm just going to assume Zancrow's talking out of his ass until we get more details.

Also is it impressive that while those other mages were like wiped out of existence, he was barely hurt by an exploding version of Zancrows black flames?

I noticed that too. Was wondering if he still had some resistance due to being the Fire DS, or if it was just plot-shields at work.

Also, I wonder if Mest will end up fighting one of the 7 kin. He didn't really get to show off what kind of powers he has, and he is from the council. Maybe he'll pull a Jura and actually be a potent opponent.

He had his chance with Azuma, so I doubt it.

You know, I can almost see them pulling wins in their fights. It won't really change the ultimate loss situation of the arc. They're only fighting five of the dudes. The other two and Hades can still make off with Zeref even if they beat their guys.

That would actually be rather lacking.

Better would be Zancrow and Natsu having a fairly even fight and then one of them winning, only to be defeated by someone from the other side because they're now weakened.

This arc has been pretty fun so far.

It just occurred to me...

Despite the fact that he's been around since the first page, was the main villain of several story arc ago, and has since been a major character in another story arc, we've never actually seen Jellal go all out.

Back in his story arc, he was being careful not to damage the tower(and still curbstomped the hell out of Natsu), and then got overwhelmed by Natsu before he could realize how big a powerup Natsu got.

When he came back, he just kinda moved aside those that were in the way, used a spell that would have one-shotted Nirvana and then tried to self-destruct himself, which weakened him to the point that he then got beat, then he gave Natsu a power-up large enough to beat Zero.

I'm kinda curious to see how powerful he actually is, when he's not holding back/being weakened.

Nah, that'd be weak.

I'd prefer a large and explosive fire-battle that ends with Zancrow beaten up but victorious. Remember, dragon slayer is a lost magic too.

This arc has been pretty fun so far.

I personally think that it's the best arc yet.

Favorite arc is either Phantom Lord (overall quality) or Tower of Paradise (emotional punch). Although this current arc's looking to join or unseat them.

Favorite moment was Natsu carrying Erza out of the Tower.
