I hope Frank Cho isn't drawing it. It would be a huge waste of his talent.

Do you mean it would be a huge waste of his talent if he did this project? Or if he didn't do it?Originally Posted by Young Avenger

I respect your opinion, and on some levels agree with you. A while back I had heard from a very, very, very, reliable source that he and Robert Kirkman were going to be co-plotting a Black Cat mini-series. Which Kirkman would script and Cho would do the art for I would much rather see this than Marvel Apes, but I think with Bendis and Cho it would be a lot of fun.Originally Posted by Young Avenger
Frank and Brian were talking about this book long before the Marvel Apes talk came up. No?

It would be amusing if Beast is the only non-Ape in the book. :)

I'll agree with an above poster and say this seems like a huge waste of both men's talents. Instead of doing a Marvel Apes mini, why not have them try and relaunch a mid level characters book or something? Instead of sticking no-names on a book, why not put one really popular creator and one mid level creator to try and get a book to sell?
And as for the Black Cat, possibility, I really like that idea, but only if they have Cho write the dialogue and Kirkman plot the book. I know a lot of people love Robert Kirkman, and he can be very good at times, but there are other times where his dialogue reads like some of the stuff from the 60's. And that isnt a compliment.
A fan suggested it at a convention. I don't think their joke response was serious, as they could be sued easily for taking an idea suggested by someone, publicly, without giving them compensation or credit, it seems quite impossible. This is why many creators explain why they don't/can't read fan fiction. Also, I believe as mentioned before, the Cho/Bendis book was talked about at a time that predates the fan-suggested idea of "Marvel Apes." Does that make any sense though, that it is not only not official by any means, and very problematic legally.
guys they were joking i was there when this was mentioned
they were laughing as it was being said it most likely wont happen
I'm sure it was on Joe Fridays they said they were thinking about doing it and tried to the find whoever shouted it out to give them a "Special Thanks" credit or something but couldn't find them...Originally Posted by RonnieThunderbolts

I doubt a Marvel Apes book would ever happen.
Are you guys picturing a book about various ape-like marvel characters or a book where marvel heroes are turned into monkeys.
But if it ever did happen I would like to see Frank Cho do the writing and the art.
Ummmm...?
What apes? S'funny, but I can think of several DC apes--several--but Marvel? Who might be the Marvel Apes? [Series a reality or not]. Dr. Nagen of the Headmen; the Mandrill; but who else? Is it a contest?

The idea would be to have exisiting Marvel Characters, i.e. Captain America, Spider-Man, etc. be apes for a mini. Look at it this way, think Marvel Zombies only with apes. And it isnt a contest it's a idea that was proposed at a con by a fan and Quesada is teasing actually doing the idea as a mini series.
Yeah, it's a joke.
At least, I hope it is.
It will NOT capture the audience that Zombies did.
Because it sounds pretty...uhm...dumb? I don't want to use such a simple word to describe something so extraordinarily uninteresting, but it will have to do. :D
