I would prefer an Invaders story set in the 40's. As original as this concept sounds, I think bringing people from the past into the future brings up too many questions with regards to the space-time continum (or whatever the phrase is). Won't it change history and thus make the current world different? I'd rather something like this be an alternate universe story that doesn't effect the 616 timeline. Oh well.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this. It'll be interesting to see if they have Bucky and Namor interacting with their current-time selves.
And I guess Cap, the Torch and the recently-returned Captain Marvel can set up a support group where they sit and grouch about their inevitable deaths.
I really can't wait for this. As one of the few fans of the late New Invaders series, it's great to see the team back, regardless of how and which incarnation.
It will be interesting to see the classic team's response to the MU of today.

I'm on board! Think of how fun it would be for Namor to meet himself, one of the earlier mutants to see what has happened with the species, the Human Touch to learn of Vision, Cap to see what he becomes in the future, and Bucky to find out he scored with the Black Widow! Plus all the fun of 1940 men landing in a world that has gone through the civil rights era, oh and have them meet a few aliens and gods! This series can be all kinds of fun and I can't wait!

I was just talking about him finding out what became of his body.

I don't see how it would even come up. Anything beyond the past Torch finding out his body becomes inert until it's reactivated in the pages of West Coast Avengers is too much IMO.
I don't even think Immortus' split was ever addressed by the modern Torch (before he died); no need to do so with one visiting from the past.

I have the feeling that after reading this, I'm going to wish the invaders could stay in the current marvel U -- even though another part of me knows how much that would mess things up.
I'm very interested in this new maxi-series. I think it's an interesting concept which has lots of potential for interesting character interaction. It would certainly be interesting to see Captain America and Bucky's reaction to what their respective futures hold in store for them.
There is the slight worry that a story of this type will bring up tons of continuity problems but hopefully Nick Barrucci and Alex Ross will be on the ball and mindful of this potential problem.
I'll definitely be picking this one up!

It sounds great, and I like the idea of exploring the early Bill Everett take on Sub-Mariner. But I was disappointed by a comment late in the interview that this would not be a villain plot-type story. If it's just Avengers and Invaders beating up Nazis, that won't be as interesting to me.

Anything done by the killer team of Jim Krueger and Alex Ross instantly gets me excited. Ross is phenomenal at re-designing classic characters, hopefully he can strike gold again!
The prospect of the very underrated Steve Sadowski drawing The Invaders is very exciting. I can't wait to see some preview artwork.
