Default IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN #11 - Total Lies, More Lies *SPOILERS*

The issue starts off with a seriously injured Eric waking up to be greeted by Mitch and a couple of armed SHIELD agents. Eric has been K.O'd for a month and WWH is over with. After talking with Mitch is injected with something to put him to sleep to transport him elsewhere.

Eric wakes up in Mitch's secret interrogation room. Eric knowing that the Helicarrier has no interrogation rooms is not buying into Mitch's game and thinks that Dugan or Fury is overseeing what's happening. Mitch tells Eric that he doesn't do everything by the book and proceeds to tell him a little story about his life.

Mitch killed his father for beating on his sister when he was fifteen. He got away with the murder by making it look like self-defense. 3 years later he killed his sister's boyfriend because she attracted the wrong kind of man. His next victim was a burglar. After that he developed a thing for killing and started to hunt down people. His taste for killing led to him to career a law enforcement where he can do what he does best. He excelled at being a cop and eventually lead to him being recruited to SHIELD where killing was a legal thing for him to do. He was in heaven.

At this point, Eric begins to beg for his life. Mitch reads a list of all the injuries Eric sustain with his battle with the Hulk to show how easy it will be to torture him. He taps on finger on Eric's neck and he screams in pain. Mitch then punches Eric on the jaw and knocks him out.

Mitch wakes up Eric while putting on the Ant-Man suit. Mitch uses to suit to shrunk to ant size to torture Eric from the inside. In the meanwhile, Blackfox is is climbing on the side of the Helicarrier plans to bust Eric out.

Mitch comes out of Eric's month of torturing from the inside for an unknown account of time. He has considerable internal injuries to Eric and will die if he doesn't get any medical attention. Before Mitch finishes him off he wants to burn half of Eric's face off. A non-smashed Iron Man comes to the recuse before he can get the chance. Iron Man quickly disposes of Mitch and his SHIELD agents restrain him so he won't go ant-size and get away. Eric tells Iron Man half truths and lies to avoid arrest like Mitch was Ant-Man the entire time, he assign ill-equip agents like him and Chris to try to steal the suit, Chris taking the suit to prevent Mitch from taking it and killing him. He's much lying about what happened in the first two issues to make it look like Mitch's master plan.

Iron Man stays silent after Eric tells him his made up story. Just when it seemed that Eric is off the took Blackfox shows up pointing his guns at all the agents present with the intentions of busting Eric out. Blackfox found Eric by putting a tracking device on his Ant suit incase he double-crossed him again. Eric screws over Fox by telling the agents that he's just a thief and has no experience with firearms or explosives. SHIELD agents take him down and gets arrested. Eric's Wii is avenged!

Iron Man tells Eric that he will investigate his story from every angle. If everything checks out then he will be reinstated and return to work when he's well. Issue ends with him performing his old job.

    ----------------------------------------------------------

Awesome issue as always. Who knew that Mitch was such a sick f***? That was a surprise.

i wonder where that was located and how Iron Man knew that he had crossed the line.

that was seriously unexpected. makes what has gone down during Civil War kind of creepy. SHIELD is employing complete psychos and putting them in high ranking positions. i think it'd be funny if Mitch had been the first one to shoot at Captain America in Civil War #1.

which is classic Eric and what separates him from other superheroes.

the ant-man powers are more dangerous than people give them credit for being.

i wonder about time-frame. Mitch tells Eric that the war is over. was he lying?

brilliant. i give Eric kudos for being a quick-thinker on this one. he's not smart but he is clever.

i almost felt sorry for the Fox until i remembered the old adage "there is no honor among thieves." plus Eric's off the hook since the Fox didn't, technically, rescue him. so there was no debt to repay.

i wonder how long that will last. we still have 1 more issue. still time for karma to rear it's ugly head.

i knew he was a creep in issue 1 (cheated during the card game) but had no idea he was practically a serial killer.

I should really proof read my posts. Put too many words in the wrong place.

Now that Eric is back at SHIELD it's a good time for Eric to resolve some baby daddy issues.

Good issue. Loved how Eric lied his way out of trouble, even selling out Black Fox, who went to such extremes to help him out.

yeah, but it would have been a little too predictable if the Fox had saved Eric and they lived happily ever after. i'm kind of rooting for the old codger to escape and kick Eric in the junk. that would square things. i wonder if they'll even touch upon the Damage Control stuff; next issue. and, seriously, how long can Veronica hide the pregnancy? it took Eric a month or so to heal from the Hulk-wounds. and, i'm assuming, that it took him at least another month to heal from the Mitch-wounds. but Veronica was impregnated before Eric went fugitive. he had to of been on the run for at least 1 month. yeesh.

P.S. did anyone else think that Eric was being injected with skrull-blood before the Mitch-Interrogation Room scene? i was worried.

Fantastic issue! I'm really sad to see it go now that it's been confirmed by Kirkman himself that it is cancelled (letters page). I love how when you think Eric is going to come clean and go the straight and honest path he completely lies and turns all the problems he created since issue one over to Mitch (but he deserved it). It was funny to hear Black Fox tell everyone about the bombs he planted and then have Eric sell him out, classic.

i like how it was hard to root for any one person. i truly believe that Eric earned every bit of torture he was put through. despite the begging not to die, he also took his @$$ kicking well. but i also think that Mitch deserved to have his face melted and to take the rap for the armor's theft. both of these characters were degenerates but Eric was the more 'innocent' of the 2. as for Black Fox, well i kind of feel sorry for him. he's almost more 'innocent' than Eric. yet, he did try to murder Eric the first time they met (shot him). so, in a way, Eric isn't really in the wrong for turning on him. but i have to give the old guy some credit for going through all of that effort to save his Wii partner.

p.s. i wonder what became of Monstro. he was still in N.Y when the Hulk arrived.

I definitely wasn't expecting a lot of this stuff to happen. Kind of a sad issue. Eric lying to Iron Man was classic.

I have no idea how this series will end, but I'm definitely looking forward to it and hopefully having Eric O'Grady still see another day in the Marvel uni.

The letter page was pretty funny too. Kirkman was writing in a kind of cynical way by the end of it. good stuff

i'm hoping that he, at least, remains Ant-Man. i would also love it if he got an updated armor; although the current one has really grown on me.

Another awesome issue. This book always amazes me. It's so funny but then sometimes it gets all dark and gritty. Most times in a comic when they try to make things evil it just comes off cheesy, but with Ant-Man it's very real. It's a very dramatic book.

"I'm a stone-cold killer with a badge--I'm in heaven. I'm Charles Bronson. I'm James Bond. I'm Wolverine. Hell, I'm not just in heaven. I'm God."

I'm still kind of confused by last page.

I predict he will return in a Bendis written book and gets stepped on when he is ant size.
