    I dont understand why "Elseworlds" stories each get their own universe.
    I seems like DC will run out of Earths before they run out of Elseworld stories to tell. And some of the stories that have been told are certainly not worthy of being one of the 52.

    It was stated in 52, by Rip Hunter that we had New Earth, plus Earth's 1 to 51. And it's been made very clear, in interviews and at conventions that New Earth isn't Earth-1...So "Earth-52" is all that's left.

    Thanks Matthew, that's great. Only change I'd personally make is that it was recently stated that Earth-3 is the home of the "Golden Age Crime Society", so I'd be more inclined to have it feed off Earth-2....Though I don't know if DC has things planned so meticulously. :)

    I don't think they will, just the major Elseworld books. You do get some doubling up, however. I'll have to check through it, but the Companion volume that came with Absolute Crisis had some Elseworld stories doubling up with others.

    I don't think every Elseworlds gets an Earth, they just have decided to let some Earths be particular Elseworlds.

    Hey Paul - I don't know if DC will be helping us out any further, but I like that they told us which Monitors went with some of the Earths. Should we start tracking that as well?

    Unless you upload photos, you'd have to call them "mutton chops-no chinhair", "pointy-ears" etc.
    It doesn't matter what the writer, artist, or editor had in mind when they created it, or what they said in an interview;
    all that matters is what is on the page.

    Heh, I thought about it, but it's very difficult to find all of 'em. :)

    Hazarding a guess: "Earth-1" will be the new mainstream DC Earth after FINAL CRISIS is over.

    So, essentially, New Earth is Earth-0.

    You're right. Earth-0 would make much more sense.

    In the recent DC panel on Newsarama:

    Does anyone at DC know what all the 52 Universes are? We have more than half mapped out. Earth 26 is the Captain Carrot Universe.

    Does that mean that Earth-C-Minus, the world of Super-Squirrel and the Just'a Lotta Animals, is now Earth-25?
