Hot Damn.
Considering IDW has the Trek comic licence as well, there might be a truely fandom-dividing crossover in the future ...
Doctor Who back in comics? Great news!
Doctor Who back in comics at IDW? There goes my enthusiasm. :(
Seriously, I'm sure they do movie and TV properties very well, it's just that I regard them as the flagbearers and originators of the $4 comic and have previously vowed to not buy any of their titles as a consequence. How I handle this one being a huge Who fan, well, that's gonna be tough. :(
Haven't $4 comics been around for a while now? As in, since the early 1990s and the second speculators boom/bust?

I'm definitely putting this on my pull list.

I agree to an extent. The paper quality is better than most publishers and the licensed books are actually complementary to the characters so I can excuse them to a degree.
As for Dr. Who, they should get Paul Cornell to write for the series. I mean, he is a comics writer with Wisdom from Marvel which was cool and he writes the T.V. show of Dr. Who so who better? And on top of all that after I met him at the Dublin City Comicon last year, a really nice guy too.
