Default BENDIS! renews exclusive at Marvel

    http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=118575

It's not really shocking news, but Bendis has renewed his current Marvel exclusive "well into the next decade".

I think he could fill the next five years just with currently announced work.
Powers (even if he's considering ending it in 2-3 years)
Ultimate Spider-Man (He's said numerous times he never plans to leave.)
    New Avengers
    Mighty Avengers
    Halo: Uprising (4 double-sized issues)
    Daredevil: End of Days
Spider-Woman (with Alex Maleev, when they're finished with Halo.)
Unnamed ICON project with Alex Maleev (after Spider-Woman)
    Ultimate Origins
Avengers: Illuminati- Two more issues co-written by Brian Reed.

The man has his fans and his detractors, but I think he's done great things for Marvel, and Marvel's given him excellent projects in return so I'm looking forward to the next five years.

What do you guys think of this?
    Sincerely,
    Thomas Mets

I'm ok with this. I've enjoyed most of the stuff he's done and I don't consider him the talentless hack that some people do. He seems to like Marvel, and that's cool. He can keep writing 9,000,000,000 books a month and I suppose I'll keep buying them.

Though, I am mildly curious about what the DCU would look like after a few years if he ever signed with DC.

    Anyway, grats to BMB.

I would think this is bad,but i think Bendis will be kicked off USM if sales drop.

I admit, I'm kind of wondering if that Spider-woman series with Maleev will ever actually happen. Whatever the unnamed project with Maleev is, I hope it's not a video game adaptation like Halo.

The Illuminati miniseries sucks, aside from the way Namor is written. And it's well drawn. Interestingly, the other series co-written by Bendis and Reed, Spider-woman: Origin, was godawful, so maybe I can blame Reed primarily.

He doesn't need to be exclusive at Marvel (or anywhere) to do Powers, which he did for 4 years at Image. Sadly, he's so busy these days it seems like he's not as interested in it. (Seems, obviously I don't know for sure.)

I do like the Avengers books right now, and seeing him on a Daredevil project again would also be great, so Yay, Bendis!

It's an un-named creator owned project, to be done after Spider-Woman.

    Though that could change. :evilsmile
