Default Dwayne McDuffie on the Balance of Justice and Injustice

Not so fast, Flash fans. Incoming “Justice League of America” writer Dwayne McDuffie reveals a new member joins the team in the Green Arrow/Black Canary Wedding Special, but it’s not who you think it is!

You know, when Dwayne McDuffie was announced as the writer of FANTASTIC FOUR, I was a bit heart broken -- since the animated series, I've always felt he should be writing JLA for DC. Then I read his FF work and KNEW I wanted home to be writing JLA for DC. I like Brad Meltzer fine and think his work on the title is top notch, but it was McDuffie I wished for.

And now my wish has been granted.

Honestly, I could see McDuffie guiding this franchise for a long time. He has a true understanding and appreciation for these characters. This is one of the best creative moves DC has made in recent memory.

    I can't wait for this.

Ditto. Metlzer's run has been good enough for me to stay on board, but I'm very anxious to read McDuffie's take. From his JLU work you know he can do action, and along with his Milestone work it becomes apparent that he's more than capable of dealing with complex emotional, political, and character interactions. Static was one of the most shocking (no pun intended) books I read when I was a youngster because it dealt with many situations that I had never been exposed to in comics before. There's no doubt in my mind he's going to get Justice League of America right from all angles.

As for who the new member will be, I've no idea myself. He obviously wants John Stewart on there, and Firestorm is a strong possibility as well, but I somehow doubt it will be either one, at least right off the bat. Maybe Martian Manhunter? Or perhaps (please, God) Zatanna? Those would both be welcome additions, while also coming out of left field. I just hope he doesn't hesitate to toss any members whom he doesn't feel work. As much as I'd hate to see an immediate shake-up, I also don't want Mr. McDuffie feeling forced to keep anyone he doesn't know how to write well, or find a place for. Personally, I'd rather someone were dismissed altogether than mischaracterized.

I'm worried about the team becoming a spitting image of the JLU.

He's been vocal about using John Stewart,Flash is back,Hawkgirl is already there, plus the big 3.

Would be a real shame to just go back to the big 6 after Meltzer showed us how awesome guys like Vixen,Reddy and Jeff are.

    Default Spoilers

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, refrain yourselves from revealing plot or story elements form the articles or, at least, put a spoiler alert on.

I'm from Portugal and I receive my comics from a a certain month at the end of that same month. Therefore to learn, while innocently reading this article, a plot point at the beggining of the same without word or advise is frustrating.

    Thank you very much!
