Thanks very much. I'll check them out.
Is battle scars worth reading? I heard the last issue sucks but the rest are good, opinions?
Battle Scars was a good read. Nothing was bad about the last issue.
On balance, it's pretty good. I had some problems with the last three or four pages of the last issue, but everything leading up to that was well worth reading.
I'm working on rounding out my list and it turns out I'm short a couple of titles. At the moment, I have Amazing Spidey, Captain America, and Daredevil representing my Marvel pile. For the sake of my wallet, however, I'd like to find a book that I can just jump into without too much diggy-digging into back issues. What would you guys recommend as something with a jumping on point in the near future/recent past? Looking for two more to even my balance with DC. (Can I say that here? Will I be safe?)
Have an idea for a DC Team Theme? PM me, and I'll put it on the list!
Winter Soldier maybe? It depends on how long you have been reading Captain America already. if since Brubaker's run then it is well worth trying. it really builds on that work. it is espionage tinged but there is plenty of sci-fi technology so it is definitely something that could only be set in a superhero universe. Great characterisations of Bucky and Widow and a good title. only five issues in too.
there are three titles starting soon: captain marvel, hawkeye and gambit. it might be worth waiting on reviews for those if you want to get in from the beginning of a title.
Chew, Daredevil, Fatale, Mind The Gap, The Sixth Gun and The Walking Dead
I have recently gotten interested in Captain America. I was just wondering if I should add AVX to my pull list.
I would appreciate if you guys could tell me if IYHO, AVX is a good read or a waste of money?
And please no spoilers.
IMHO - AVX is a good read because you get to see Marvel's biggest players in a story that has real consequences for the Marvel Universe.
IMHO:Waste of money - John Romita Jr's artwork.
Interview with creators of Marvel Knights: HULK, featuring interior art.
Hoping the upcoming MOON KNIGHT series will be worthwhile.
No. Don't buy it. Don't buy any events.
I'm a bumblebee. I'm a bee and I need to get back to the hive.
I'd say don't bother cause you're starting too late, but not much has really happened yet.
So if you're getting into Captain America you should totally pick it up. He's on the moon right now, I think.
Also, since you're getting into Cap, you might want to check him out in the Ultimate Universe, he's pretty awesome there. He quit the Ultimates after Spider-Man died but he's gonna be back in action in the next couple issues I believe. I highly recommend the series.
Oh and don't ever let anyone tell you what not to read. If I did that on this forum I'd still have only two books on my pull list.
