There was a single release. 1985 Restless Records. "Animal (Fuck Like A Beast)" was the A-side. "Show No Mercy" was the B-side.

    I've got it.

So do I, actually. Somewhere. On vinyl, no less.

And it turns out there was a reissue of W.A.S.P.'s self-titled album in 1998. "Animal (Fuck Like a Beast)" is track one.

I guess that's what I get for not buying many reissues.

It makes me think, which are the albums that were the most augmented when reissued? I'm thinking Venom where half of the reissues are outtakes and 12 inch versions. Then there's the repackaged Operation: Mindcrime that added a live version of the whole album and a DVD with music videos.

    Horror show?

I'd rank that album close the bottom, and would suggest all the albums that came prior to it.

The thing about Iced Earth is that they have gotten more power-metalish with each album. The early stuff is excellent traditional/thrash metal, and I particularly love Night of the Storm Rider and Burnt Offerings. I think it's kind of hit and miss after that, but even the misses are pretty good albums.

However, I think their new album sucks. Just straight up S-U-C-K-S. Owens sings his ass off but the songs are mediocre at best. Really, this whole album is heavy metal masturbation. Lots of chanting and long ass songs about battles and armageddon and all those super metally metal things, but when you get past all that there's not much there.

I think Horror Show is a pretty good album. Worth adding to the collection. Not their best but good. I didn't like Iced Earth or Night of the Stormrider. I guess mainly because I heard The Dark Saga first and LOVE Matt Barlow's vocals. The two singers on the first two CDs are just not in his class.

Can't comment on this since I haven't heard it yet.

I wouldn't say it sucks, but it isn't their best stuff. When I first listened to it, I was like, What the hell is this, Trans-Siberian Orchestra?

    Not a TSO fan?

    I'm sorry to hear that.

Agreed. Horror Show is where I started getting out of Iced Earth. I thought it was kind of a cheesy gimmick, and the songs weren't that strong to me. The albums before were all pretty damn good though.

So I think I just had an epiphany. You know how I always say I want to find a metal band with really rough, extreme guitars but cleaner, tolerabe vocals? I realized I really just want more Pantera albums, LOL. I just bought Reinventing the Steel which was the only one I didn't have. Sigh. I miss them. I thought it was a lot stronger than TGSTK, and that's when I realized Pantera embodied exactly what I was looking for. It's a shame they're gone forever now and I only have the existing albums. But, at least I have the existing albums. :)

True enough, but I can't imagine it holds a candle to Pantera without Dimebag. :(
