    hey guys...i'm new here too.

Been looking for a Comic Book forum that suits my tastes, and CBR does it. Been lurking for a while. Been an overwhelming yet humbling experience reading all these well thought out and intelligent posts, and a weird experience reading all those off-base ones..

I'm from the Philippines, by the way, the birth place of all those guys who draw New Avengers and Wetworks, and here's hoping I become one of them in the near future.

Life is hard here back then, and comics weren't in the 'must buy' list in my day (my day being early 90's). Now that I have a (sort of) stable job, and disposable income, I've returned to collecting comics, and I've restarted with Mighty Avengers, Nova, and Iron Man.

I hope I can be an active part of this community.

    welcome g-dawg
What have I always believed? That, on the whole, and by and large, if a person lived properly, not according to what any priests said, but according to what seemed decent and honest inside, then it would, at the end, more or less, turn out ok.

Erm...yeah, so i found this place when i was doing some random search for Marvel wallpapers, and i finally decided to join ^_^ I just recently got into comics (as in actually buying and reading them rather than just reading about them).

    Um, comics i like:
the old Eastman and Laird TMNT comics
the Dark Horse Star Wars comics
    pretty much anything Marvel
only DC character i like is Batman, but i dont follow the comics closely

I cant guarantee i'll be really active on here, since i work alot and i'm trying to figure out a college to go to, but i'll try post every now and then and make some more wallpapers (since i'm just learning).
Welcome to the site, man. I see you've only got nine posts thus far, so you're still pretty new. Feel free to venture forth -- there's plenty of people to talk to and forums to choose froum.

I want to get into more books but not a lot of them really strike my interest. I prefer books written for Mature Readers. I'm gonna collect all the trades of Preacher, The Sandman, and 30 Days of Night in the near future.
"Preacher" is still one of my all time favorite series and "30 Days of Night" is just great fun. Can't wait for the film.

    Go for it.

You know, a lot of folks have asked about a trading forum. I've resisted the idea for a long time, but maybe it's one worth investigating again.

Welcome back, Dennis K. I may be new, but I'm nevertheless dealing out the welcomes as well as receiving them. :)

What is this? Why would posters be ignored if they are new? If someone says something interesting, talk back, even if it's the first post.

You're an artist? Will you be posting your work on this site? I am intrigued!

By the way, Caturday is the cutest! This place is so odd in a good way!

Point of weirdness: Six months from now I will still be a newbie. You see, because of monetary problems, I am forced to take a leave from CBR for half a year, and not a month and a half as I thought before. It gets complicated. Anyway, I won't be able to respond to anyone's calls, on the forum or otherwise. This doesn't mean my CBR-account will be erased, does it?

I do have a little question before I go: why do people change their avatars so often? I want to use my avatar forever and ever. I didn't pick Rachel Summers on a whim, you know, especially this particular frame. Is keeping one avatar for too long some sort of copyright infringement?

The current run of Detective Comics is really, really good. Done-in-one stories by Batman: The Animated Series guy Paul Dini.
    Well worth checking out.
