Hello, I'm Joe, just registered here at the site. Spent the last year reacquainting myself with the comic book world. I'm a DC reader although when I was younger I was a Marvel guy. No stranger to forums but this is the first for comics that I've been part of.
Before jumping in I thought it would be best to introduce myself.
Recently just got back into comic book collecting. The collection is pretty extensive but two of my favorite are Incredible Hulk #340 (CGC 9.8 SS Todd McFarlane) and Amazaing Spider-Man #298 (CGC 9.8).
I also enjoy drawing and really look forward to seeing other's artwork.
Besides comics, I have a passion for balisongs (flipping, collecting, and making).
Hi! I'm Kayla. I've been a superhero fan since I was a kid, and have read some Vertigo titles on and off, but I didn't get into superhero comics until last spring when somebody recommended Captain Marvel and Haweye to me. Been doing a lot of reading since then. :) Looking forward to talking to people on here.
Hi everyone.. I am new here, but I would love your help! For my masters thesis I am creating a hypothetical company that produces interactive digital comic books, and I would love your feedback. If you help me out you will be entered to win a $20 Visa gift card. Please fill out my survey, it only takes a minute. Thanks! :)
Hello Dudes and Lady-Dudes, "I'm new here", I used to be a regular poster in the IGN comics Facebook group, but it became less about comics and more about people being assholes. I'm from Nottingham in the UK, I'm 29, been reading for about 13 years. Mainly a Marvel guy but have a healthy amount of DC and Indie stuff as well. I read about 5 books a week digitally but collect everything I like in hardcover/trade eventually. My bookshelves are my pride and joy, I used to get everything in paperback for uniformity's sake but I recently discovered the joys of the omnibus/OHC format, so I've been gradually re-buying stuff and converting my collection.
I'm Andy...almost 40, have been collecting and reading comics since I was 6, added the addiction to comic based or inspired cartoons around the same time, and the collecting toys came soon after.
I'm not one of these dyed in the wool old schoolers, who misses the silly, wear your underwear on the outside heroes...or the smell and feel of turning pages.
I LOVE digital comics...
I think they're the best thing to happen to the universe, and would honestly rather collect comic based toys and merch, rather than the books, themselves, because I think books are for reading...and toys and merch are for collecting/playing with as much as possible.
Honestly, heroes really aren't my thing, anyway.
I have a few favorites, of course, (Bats, Swamp Thing, Deadpool), but I prefer horror, fantasy, sci-fi and unclassifiable books more than the hero stuff.
Some of my all time favorite comics are: Transmetropolitan, Wolfskin, No Hero, The Boys, Fables, Doktor Sleepless, Hellblazer, Aliens/Predator/Terminator and Xenoscope's Grimm Fairy Tales line.
I have used CBR for quite some time now, and finally signed up, just so I could join the discussion about Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. but I see there's a lot more fun things to read, so I'm gonna shutup and go do that now.
