My name is Willem, I'm from the Netherlands and for a couple of years now I've been becoming a bigger and bigger fan of comic books. I'm currently reading some Star Wars and a lot of Batman/crossovers. I also love Tintin (or 'Kuifje' in Dutch), the reprints of the classic/original run is fantastisc.

Aside from comics I like to play Xbox 360. I'm an editor for one of the Netherlands leading websites about XBox 360. Not sure if I'm spamming when posting a link here, but if you'd like to know, I can always tell.

I’m not sure if anyone actually reads these, but…

Hi there, I’m the_kaz. I used to be a regular poster on the old Newsarama message boards under a different name many moons ago, but I eventually weaned myself off of it after things there started getting a little too hostile and political. Not too long after that, around the time that the financial crash kicked in, I more or less quit mainstream comics entirely, though I still continued to read the odd independent graphic novel, and superhero trade that I just couldn’t keep away from (such as Morrison’s Batman, and Daredevil up until ‘Shadowland’ kicked in). However, though I was reading less and less of the things, my love for comics never waned, and I’ve been slowly continuing my quest to one day become a comic book writer (the most I’ve actually gotten out there so far is my name attached as “editor” of a small press comic, but I’ll make it further up the ladder eventually!).

Although I promised myself I wouldn’t, I recently found myself getting sucked into DC’s “New 52” event (better late than never!). This, in turn, has pretty much opened up a big can of worms, and I’m now finding myself getting back into mainstream comics in general again. However, I’ve sworn to myself that I’ll no longer buy comics “out of habit”, and that I’ll only buy trades/hardcovers for the stories that I genuinely want to read (coming back into the fold, with things the way they are, monthly comics really seem like a big waste of money to me now). I look forward to actively posting on a comic book message board again!

I started reading and collecting comics off and on in '91, but stopped altogether in '05. I started to get back into them after getting hyped up for the Avengers movie, which is weird because I've never been a fan of Avengers comics. I've been mostly an X-Men fan but I usually check out a few Image titles here and there.

Howdy, I be new here!
Well, new at posting anyway. Been browsing the forums for a good few months.
Er, where to start. Fairly new to comics in general. Been reading since December 2011. Started out on mainly batman. Started picking up more and more DC issues. Then went to Marvel. Now I have a pretty large comic collection. And a larger TPB collection!
Aside from loving comics, I'm a music lover. Guitarist and vocalist in a metal band. Have a mind numbing day job, but it funds the comics/music/Nandos.

Hello. I'm new here. I'm an aspiring comic book artis.

I've been drawing my whole life but I'm pretty unfamiliar with comics themselves. I've always been a fan and I read my cousin's comics but never purchased comics myself until recently (and even then I've rarely had the extra time or free cash to buy comics as often as I would've liked.) I'm a fan of the X-Men series I've recently found some GI Joe stuff that has gotten me interested in what they are about. Other than that I've pretty much only have the big marvel crossover stories like Civil War and House of M.

I've always been a character designer and story writer but it's only been recently that I've turned to comics as a medium to display my own stories. And one of the reasons I'm here is to immerse myself more in comic book culture and artists, expose myself to more comics and artwork and be able to receive feedback from my own works from people who are experienced in this medium.

22/f here from New Orleans. Ever since my proud comic collection got washed away in Katrina (T_T), I kind of lost interest in collecting as well as reading. I started picking up comics again a year ago as a way to alleviate stress from college. I also had newfound freedom (and time) due to an end of a 2 1/2-year relationship which may or may not be a worthy trade-off for rediscovering comics ;)

As of late, my comic consumption has been through the roof and I'm always writing reviews on my blog so I thought why not get involved in an online community so I can further dwell in my growing fixation. I read any genre from superheroes to slice-of-life although I do have a keen fondness for horror, zombies, and macabre. I'm currently reading:

- Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe
- Locke & Key
- Torso
- Walking Dead
- Gambit
- Black Hole
- AvX
- a few series from the new 52

I'm also a fan of anime, manga, and cosplaying, but I'm a music junkie before anything else. Anywho, you'll be seeing me around!

Looks like a sweet site; a nice change from some of the other quieter forums for sure.
