I'm new here too! Hello everyone, my name is Lee...

I'm a girl who loves independent comics, Japanese comics, and will always love, but probably never read, the Marvel-verse. I grew up loving X-men, collecting the 1994 cards, and watching the cartoon (form the 90s). But lately I truly enjoy comics, or more accurately, graphic novels, that tend to have an ending because I get too attached to characters and continuing their story ad infinitum leaves me emotionally drained. (I seriously want to read the new Catwoman series...but...and then there is Jean Grey's story that is suppose to have an end...but...)

Currently reading: Y: The Last Man.

Childhood Favorite: Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi.

*Cough, cough* Hello, my name is Kelly and I am a nerd/geek/dork/etc. I play video games, read fantasy and sci-fi, table top/ccg, collect toys/statues/figures, and write a gaming blog - sort of -.

I finally decided sign up to CBR after a couple of months of trolling around the site and the forum, so here I am to say "Hello" and do the routine "Tell me about yourself" stuff, so here we go.

I'm an avid lover of nerd/geek/dork/etc. culture. I'm a life long gamer going so far as working in the lowest possible area of the gaming world, retail employee at my local GameStop. Okay, I'm not just an employee, I actually help run the place which is pretty cool considering I get paid to talk about something I actually enjoy doing in my free time. My favorite game of all time is and will forever be Chrono Trigger, though I try to play just about everything that holds my interest for more than a few minutes, the exception being sports games because I absoutely suck at playing them and never seem to get any better.

Over the last couple of years I've started to expand my gaming experience into table top/ccg and feel in love with Pathfinder and have a level 11 Half-Orc Barbarian. The group I run with, which also includes my awesome wife, meet every Sunday at my house to play whatever we feel like at the moment. Be it a round of Killer Bunnies or a two hour "please God will someone just win" session of Catanit's quite rewarding to get together and relax with a bunch of like minded individuals. It also helps that, for the exception of my wife, we all work together and know each others schedules.

But alas, this is a comic book focused website, so lets get back on topic. I've always been a fan of comic books, but with my schedule it's never been an easy hobby to keep up with, that all changed about a month ago. One night after my wife went to bed I was quite bored so I found all the comics I currently have in my collection. After doing a bit of thinking I began to organize them, and I don't mean just putting them into board bags and putting them in a box. I took the time to create an elaborate, by standards anyways, spread shit that the comics that I currently own, as well as the new stuff that I want to continue reading. They are listed in alpha order with a column dedicated to issues owned and issues needed (if I actually enjoyed the series enough to collect them all). Once I finished this all up I decided to head down to one of my local comic book shops and glance at their back issues, which proceeded to unleash Pandora's box. When I wasn't organized I really had no idea what I wanted to read or collect, which actually saved me money, but once I became organized I could no longer hide behind an excuse of not knowing what was in my possession. It was quite liberating be able to pull out my phone, load up my list, and be able to know EXACTLY what I had and needed. It was both awesome and not awesome because hot damn did I spend some money.

So here I was organized, which made me want to start collecting again so I put together a few titles that I'd like to start reading on a monthly basis. But wait, it's gets better, my wife is so awesome because she fully supports my habit, because she is a life long nerd/geek/dork/etc. as well. After doing all this I decided upon what I wanted to read and went and made my first pull list in three years. The shop I buy my new stuff at is mainly a ccg/board game shop so they only order new comics twice a month, which is awesome because it allows me to save up my money and not just go in there blind and with a full wallet.

I've always been more of a Marvel guy, with Wolverine being my all time favorite, so I'm currently reading Wolverine, Wolverine and the X-Men, Avengers vs X-Men, the Amazing Spider-Man, and since my wife feel in love with Hawkeye, I'll be picking that up for here when the new run starts in August. On the DC side it's always been about Batman for me, so of course I'm reading Batman which is freaking awesome. I'm flip flopping between whether or not to continue reading Just League and Suicide Squad, say what you will but I'm a guy and I love the new look for Harley Quinn. I'm also super excited for Grant Morrisions return to Batman with Batman: Inc. because his work with the Caped Crusader was top notch. The only other stuff I'm probably going to start reading/collecting is the relaunched X-O Manowar. I picked up the first issue because I heard nothing but praise for the work and I'm glad I did because it was something I wasn't expecting. Finally, I'm debating if I want to read any of the Before Watchmenstuff, but I'll figure that out later.

I'm super excited to have finally joined this site and I look forward to being as active a member that I can be. Also, if any one is like "Man, your wife is so cool" first thing, she is, and second it can also be expensive supporting my nerd/geek habits, let alone hers. However, I'm just lucky to have someone that won't look at me weird if I blurt out "Holy crap, look at that awesome [I]Ghost in the Shell/I]statue, or come home with a bag of comic books and dice. One final thing, here is a link to my collection to help anyone get a better understanding at what makes me me https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...FQ4bHNCdV9zMGc.

Thanks for hanging and listening to my rant. :)

Hi, I'm Sean, from Ohio. I grew up on Superfriends and Spider-man and his Amazing Friends; my first comic book that I remember buying was Captain America #252 when I was 3 years old. I just thought the cover looked super cool when I saw it on the rack at Lawson's...so I bugged my grandpa and he bought it for me. I've been hooked ever since.

I joined this site because I was looking for some advice on how to create comics; that has been a lifelong dream of mine and it always felt like something that was "on the bucket list...but for later" and I was never getting around to making it happen. So I've decided to make it happen. I'm currently working on my first book AND I've started the preliminary stages of building a comic book publishing company where all profits will go to charity. It's not going to be ready to the degree I want until the summer of 2013, but it means a great deal to me and I'm very excited about it.

This forum has been great so far and I've truly enjoyed being a part of it. I wish I had discovered it years ago.

    Hello!

My name is Tiffany and I'm new here. I actually joined to see where to even start in comics, and I think I've picked out a few for me. I just ordered some New 52 Catwoman (which I hear is pretty lulzy), and I plan on at least getting Batwoman as well. I also started reading Astonishing X-Men (Whedon) and love it. This weekend I plan on visiting the comics store and "really" starting a collection.

Since I really don't have much to say about comics yet, I'll talk about the things I know about. I work as a computer tech for a small local business and play lots of video games. I also enjoy photography and reptiles.

Hello everyone! My name is Abhishek and I just started reading comic books.. well last Tuesday. The New 52 kinda allowed me to jump into DC titles. My personal favorite would be Batman as his TV show was great along with Nolan's movies. Like the poster above me, I won't really contribute to the comics forum too much yet untill I learn more. Till then, I'll stick to topics I know like the NBA lol

    Hey guys

My name's Matt, I live in Brisbane, Australia.

I've come from the dreaded comicbookmovie.com, I've stopped using their site mainly because of all the fights that happen and all that. Also the trolls and their obnoxious admins.

I look forward to talking to you all about all things comics, games, movies etc.

    Cheers :)

    Hey there!

I'm Jeff, and I registered to help troubleshoot some issues with Super Hero Squad Online that some forum members are/were seeing. I'm an employee of Gazillion Entertainment, an avid video gamer, and I'm getting sucked into the comic book world and finding it pretty fun!

Hey everyone. I got an account a while ago, but I was unsure if it was activated. I'm posting to make sure that it is now.

EDIT: Hurray, it does! I guess I should talk a little bit about myself. I'm eighteen, and I've always been a fan of comic book characters, but I never really picked up any mainstream comics until last year, when I the first Ultimate Spider-Man Ultimate Collection. I got the other two soon after, and I'm currently waiting for more of them to be printed. In the meantime, I've been looking over getting some of the 616 Marvel books, but the only one I have so far is Carnage: Family Feud, since Carnage is my favorite Spider-Man villain.
