So Image saw the success of "Mouse Guard" and will come out with:

    MICE TEMPLAR #1 !

Are we going to return to the days when everyone came out with TMNT ripoffs?

I expect more of Image these days. :(

David Peterson's Mouse Guard is truly an amazing book! And David is a great guy too!

I'm pretty sure The Mice Templar has nothing to do with trying to capitalize on anything but its own merit as a story.

Mice Templar first appeared in an industry charity fundraiser book for the ACTOR Fund/Hero Initiative back in 2003, and has been in development as a series ever since.

    The usual for me:
    THE ASTOUNDING WOLF-MAN #3
    BRIT #2
    DYNAMO 5 #7
    THE WALKING DEAD #43

I'm on the fence for the following books:
    MICE TEMPLAR #1
    LUCHA LIBRE #1
    SORROW #2 (of 4)
    Madame Mirage #3

Yep, it is on record that Mice Templar has been in production BEFORE Mouse Guard, and that creators of both books are actually friends to a degree, and know of each other's work. This is not a case of copying ideas.

Oeming is simply too busy to get all his ideas out at one time. Happens a lot in the industry, actually.

The writer of the series was ready to start in 2005!

I'm so happy that people can see the cover for the After the Cape trade. It just rocks. I'm not just saying that either.

Thanks to all who corrected me. I will look to find the Actor book. My wife loved Mouse Guard, it helped me prove to her comics CAN be fun.

    Thanks Bobb!

I think that if you give Mice Templar a look-through on the store racks when it comes out then you might be pleasantly surprised.
Despite the similarity of genre (mice with swords) MT is quite a different story than MG. I believe Templar will be darker, and there are definitely some scary issues (#3 for instance), yet both David Peterson and ourselves are striving for the same audience: those who love epic adventures!

MICE TEMPLAR #1 (love that it's got 56 pages, and in color, for only 4 bucks. That's a STEAL)
PARADE (WITH FIREWORKS) #1 (looks fairly interesting)
MADMAN & THE ATOMICS, VOL. 1 TP
THE NIGHTLY NEWS TP (I skipped in in singles, I'll give the TP a shot)
    THE ASTOUNDING WOLF-MAN #3
    BRIT #2
    CASANOVA #9
    ELEPHANTMEN: WAR TOYS #2
    GUTSVILLE #5
    KILLING GIRL #2
    THE WALKING DEAD #43

Looking like a good month, I'm reading more and more Image books again, after a fairly long dry spell. Which is very nice.
