And yeah, can't see Rogue developing cancer while in UA. Doesn't fit with the tone of the book, I don't think.

Another thought I had about the cancer thing.Back during the Messiah Complex,baby Hope "Cleaned" Rogue of all her sicknesses (Strain 88,8 billion souls,etc).If Rogue were to get cancer,it would more likely come after that.Sue Storm on the other hand,has been expossed to all sort of stuff over more than 50 years...

Yeah, I think with Rogue's reset and her powers more stable, she is most likely not the cancer candidate. Also, my theory is that in some ways those she has absorbed embed in her DNA on some level. Thus maybe she has some built in resistance. Plus, the story doesn't seem to fit with the UA stuff. The Sue Storm is more likely. I think Rogue was put on the list cause she is a fan favorite and knew it would cause a stir.

Agreed about just using Rogue to cause a stir.

Rogue right now doesn't work as canidate for a lot of reasons. That sort of story has to have some emotional strings to pull - ie not just how it affects her but those close to her. Rogue has no real ties or family around at the moment to do that. Mystique is off being Mystique, Kurt is dead, Rogue's not been in a long term romance in years storywise and what romantic attachments she's had won't work well for her or the other characters. Magneto's having his own issues about his power and being with the wanted, along with the relationship was just sex twice in all honesty so to have him "be there" for his ex would be forced. A new romance showing up with that would also seem forced and while given how tight Rogue and Gambit once were so one might see Gambit showing up, it would be forcing Gambit's character to support Rogue's again even as a friend and there's just not the impact. It just doesn't work well within the concept of the issues. Sue has that family and husband and children to make it all the more emotional a story.

I recall Rogue "kinda" landed on and straddled Mr. Sinister's torso rather unladylike, and kissed him full on the lips like a drunken bar bimbo.
