Haven't gone through this thread but I was thinkin' of The Deep End , decided to do a search, and found out ABC cancelled the show. Argh! I enjoyed the show too. One of the more pleasant new shows this year. I liked the cast too.
On the other hand, I had no doubt Vampire Diaries would be renewed, as it's the CW's best show in my opinion.

Buzz from EW online is that "24" will be cancelled by Monday.
Ausiello thinks 24 may be sticking around ahile longer... http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/03/...ox-jack-bauer/
Nooooooooooooo! Just kill 24. Put it out of its misery.
Free your soul and let it fly....
My dream scenario would be 24 gets picked up by HBO or Showtime for one or two more seasons, then they end it.
Just imagine what Jack Bauer could do to people without Network Censors breathing down his neck.![]()

Yeah, it's being written by Billy Ray (he wrote "Flightplan" and "State Of Play", I haven't seen either) and the full 24 hour day will take place within the 2-ish hour movie.
HOWEVER...

Looks like NBC might be interested in a new season of 24, which would delay the movie as the producers don't want to deal with both the series and the movie at the same time.
Ah. One of THOSE people.
Forced to watch FOX on Monday nights at 9, wishing instead for more "American Idol".
TV shows don't hurt you. Why take something away that might make someone else happy simply because you... what, can't change the channel? Can't go and enjoy an evening out? I'm not understanding this.
No, I'm one of THOSE people who has watched the show since Day 1 and seen it steadily decline in quality. I'm one of THOSE people who thinks the show has run its course and would like to see the series end so that it doesn't become an even bigger joke. (Seriously, we've reached the point where Kim vs. the bobcat is now considered the good ol' days.)
I am not one of THOSE people who wishes a show would get canceled because I don't like it.
I am also not one of THOSE people who casts aspersions about people I don't know.
Is there anything else you're having trouble understanding?

You say you want the show cancelled.
Then say you used to like the show, but no longer like it.
And then say you're not a person that wants it cancelled because you don't like it? Why do you wish it to get cancelled again? It has nothing to do with you personally not enjoying it anymore? Nothing at all?
It's too simple to stop watching it that you must actively wish for cancellation? You have a personal investment that if the show becomes a joke, things in your life will change for the worse?
I stopped watching Smallville in season 1. Couldn't stand it.
But I'm glad it's on the air and people are enjoying it. For example.
I hated season 6 of 24. But I didn't wish it to get cancelled. And I'm glad because last year it improved greatly. I'm still not sure about this year, but I certainly don't wish it to get cancelled. If it does, fine. But no wishing involved.

The show has had a long and (mostly) good run. The quality isn't what it used to be and the show is almost becoming a parody of itself. There's nothing wrong with thinking it's time to end. If you want to think I feel that way because I don't like the show anymore, that's your business. Truth is, I'm more disappointed in what the show has become. It's like seeing a football player who refuses to retire well past his prime.

Speaking of putting something out of its misery, have we finally seen the end of Scrubs? http://tvbythenumbers.com/2010/03/13...canceled/44811
