    Default Comic Shop Names

OK, here's the scenario... you've inherited a huge wad of cash... and decide you're going to open up your very own comics shop. Nothing huge, but a suitable size... plenty of space to show your wares, and your love for the medium...

You really want to catch the eye of the customer... so...

What do you name your shop?

I had this opportunity once, but instead of an inheritance of any sort, I used my own funds... called it "Hero's Realm"... and it was doing well... sadly, my "partner"... screwed the pooch (what funds? Where? I never spent that money?!), and the whole thing fell apart. I miss it. Maybe again one day...

    Ah well.

I'm actually in the process of opening my own comic shop and I think I found a pretty awesome name. Comics Are For Everyone.

I like it Jack. Good Luck with the shop. Where is it located (approximately if you don't want to be specific)? There just may be a few members here who'd be happy to stop in!

(Personally, best shop name I ever saw was "My Mom Threw 'em Away")

Cincinnati, JT. Exactly where is still up in the air, but I'm really hoping I can get this one storefront in Northside.

    And Fish- awesome name.

The store I always went to when I lived in San Diego was called Comickaze. Still my favorite comic book store name.

I'd probably call mine something kitschy with a subtitle on business cards, like Pulp Raygun: Comics, Action Figures, and Other Bawdy Delights.

    EDIT
In light of Fish Sauce's quotation, I think Spiders From Mars Comics would be a fun store name.

    AAA Comics.

Hey, at least you'll be close to first in the phone book. :D

The store I go to, by the way, is called Atlas Comics. (Here's the link to the website: http://www.acomics.com)

True, you'd be first in the phone book, but mostly you'd be getting irate calls from folks wanting a tow all the time. Would cut into valuable face time with customers!

I almost BOUGHT my LCS as it was closing, but the business had really strange money issues, and despite going over the records,i could NEVER figure out where some of the money was going to. Because of this,i did not buy the store, and my town is now without a LCS.

Sigh. On the bright side,i now get my books from Zeus Comics, and worth EVERY PENNY i spend, and then some. They rock! I just wished they open branches in Oregon now!

Mine is "ComicsCafé", 'Cause I always wanted to do more of a coffee-house type of store, with an area to sit and read, write, draw or even argue comics.

And God knows we need more coffee in the world! :D
