More Spiderman questions

Ok I ask alot of questions, but i'd like someone to address some of my questions with the Spiderman comics, and even maybe the issues they happened in.

first - the black costume
I got the first few back in black books, and civil war, but exactly what reason did this happen? spidey just decided to change clothes? what about the issue it explains it?

secondly - why is there an issue with peters marriage? have they been having problems over the years?

third - out of all the spiderman comic's which one is the most fun to read? i collected the WHOLE other story line arc, but i felt like it went flat and the friendly n.spiderman title was stiff and clitche

also, what ever happened to the powers that spidey developed in the other? like the wolverine claw he had and the websensitivity?

OK, I'll do my best but there are others on this board who are far more knowledgable than me.

first - the black costume
I got the first few back in black books, and civil war, but exactly what reason did this happen? spidey just decided to change clothes? what about the issue it explains it?

OK, Spidey first got the black suit during the Secret Wars cross-over in the 80's. That suit was actually a living alien symbiote that tried to bond with him. After getting rid of it the Black Cat (his girlfriend at the time) made him a new black suit (one made out of cloth this time) which he wore for a while in the 80's. He stopped wearing it when Venom came on the scene...if I remember correctly, I don't think Mary Jane liked seeing Peter in it because it reminded her of Venom.

Anyway, he's recently gone back to wearing the black costume since Aunt May was shot by an assassin and also because of his fugitive status since the Civil War ended. The issue where Spidey decided to put on the black costume again was Amazing Spider-Man #539. The reason he's started wearing it is because he wants to show that he's not the same Spider-Man he was before, that the gloves are off and that he's really angry about things!

secondly - why is there an issue with peters marriage? have they been having problems over the years?

As far as I'm aware there isn't a problem with Peter and MJ's marriage in the comics. In fact their marriage has been holding up pretty well under the strain of current events in the Spider-Man universe. Just take a look at the recent Sensational Spider-Man annual for evidence of this. They seem to still be very much in love and very loyal to each other.

Several writers at Marvel and Joe Quesada in particular have been moaning for some time about how they hate having Peter married in the comics. They feel it limits the story telling potential of Spider-Man and makes him seem too old.

Well, in my opinion Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is hands down the most fun to read. I'll admit that it got off to a bit of a shaky start but honestly, you should check it out again because it's awesome these days. It has a very 'old school' feel to it and the writer (Peter David) does a brilliant job of intergrating Spidey's supporting cast into the stories. You should bear in mind though that most of the REALLY important stuff happens in Amazing Spider-Man.

Well, we've seen Peter's wrist-daggers since The Other storyline, although not often. He last used them (accidentally) during a wrestling match with El Muerto in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #6 or #7...I can't quite remember. As for the websensitivity, I don't think we've heard anything about that since the time of The Other storyline.

Although Peter David has hinted on these very boards that we might get to see Spidey using some of his new powers in the next issue of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which will be issue #21.

Yeah, Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 made about 1 billion dollars each world wide.

Ah cool and anorther thing would anyone have any scans of what Peter looks like in the What if ? the other ; after he becomes Poison? Wiki has one pic but i havent found any others.
