haven't done this in a while....

Detective Comics #832 - Dini's stories are fun. The art is merely functional. I do wish these stories felt more connected - although I do like their self-contained-ness. I want it all.
One of the few DC books I can still stomach.

Civil War Captain America TP - I have been enjoying Brubaker's Cap, but I have avoided all Civil War books (outside of the issues of She-Hulk and X-Factor that dealt with it)....should I pass on this? I feel like I trust Brubaker enough to get this.

Spider-Man Loves MJ #18 - only 3 more issues of Mckeever. Sad. One of the few books I buy in issue form AND collected.

Wonder Man #5 - Nauck did the art last issue and that really helped. A pretty good story. Nothing amazing.

Walking Dead Vol.6 - I think this is the new one. Its been so long I forgot...and the last volume wasn't as strong as the previous so I am not all that eager either.

Dominion #1 - I am the one guy who enjoyed this instantly cancelled Image book, so I might take a look at this Giffen-less relaunch. But probably not.

    DC Comics
52 WEEK #52 $2.50 - I hope that the conclusion will be as good as the ride has been.
Danger Girl Body Shots #2 (of 4) $2.99
    - fun book!
    Green Lantern #19 $2.99 - Great reading.

    Marvel Comics
    Astonishing X-men #21 $2.99
    - Will probably end up getting both covers.
Avengers Initiative #2 $2.99 - Liked the first issue a lot more than expected.
Ms Marvel #15 $2.99 - Getting better with each issue.
Omega Flight #2 (of 5) $2.99 - Excellent start for Oeming & Kolins.
Sensational Spider-man Annual #1 $3.99 - Why not? I'm getting the monthly book.

    Wait for Trade
Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Liked the first issue enough to wait for the trade.
100 Bullets - I think that the next one was advanced solicited recently.

    Hey, how IS All-New Atom?

I only read part of one issue of Birds of Prey (I think the first issue she did) and it was just okay, but I've heard so many good things I want to give one of her books another try.

The current storyline starting in issue #100 (with new penciler Nicola Scott) is a good jumping on point. Or you've got booku bucks coming out of your wallet, start at the beginning. The Dixon/Land (before he starting tracing everything)/Guice run on BOP is still excellent reading.

Another pricey week, depending on whether I buy all the trades that come out.

    BOOM! Studios
    Warhammer 40k #3:
Enjoying this book, especially the art. the color work is great.

    Dark Horse
    Buffy The Vampire Slayer #3:
Love the series so far. It's another all Joss week.
Vampire Hunter D Vol 7: I just started reading Vol 6 yesterday. Guess I'm gonna be behind again.

    DC
    52 Week 52:
And we reach the end. It's been a great ride. Hope it ends well.
Checkmate #13: Is this the start of the Checkmate/Outsiders crossover?
Green Lantern #19: Hope it's not Acuna on art again, the last issue didn't impress me that much. The Sinestro Corps back up was great though.
Shazam: Monster Society of Evil #3: Love it! Wonder what Smith will do next.

    Image
    Walking Dead Vol 6 TPB:
Switched back to the trades on this. Will probably start from the begining and read them all again.

    Marvel
    Avengers: the Initiative #2:
Enjoyed the first issue. Curious to see what the format of the series is going to be.
Civil War: Captain America TPB: Reading Cap in trades. This is the one trade I'm most looking forward to this week.
Civil War: Wolverine TPB: Heard good things about this story. Can't remember if I pre-ordered or not, will pick up if I did.
Ghost Rider, Trail of Tears #4 of 6: For the art. Great painted work, glacially paced story.
Loners #2 of 6: Another great first issue. Can't wait for this one.
Omega Flight #2 of 5: First issue didn't blow me away, but I'll pick up the mini for Kolin's art alone.
Runaways #26: To be honest, Whedon's first issue didn't floor me, and Ryan's art left something to be desired. I'll see what they can do with this issue.

    Viz
    Shonen Jump #54:
    Yay, more manga!!

Forgot to add, need to order Love as a Foriegn Language Onibus Vol 2 from Amazon. The first one was very sweetly romantic with some decent art. Pretty sure I didn't preorder that one. May or may not order Kia Asamiya's Junk Vol 2. Wasn't thrilled by the first one. Probably won't buy it. I've got enough manga as it is, what with the final two volumes of Nausicca on the way, plus the first Planetes, plus a bunch of other books. Reading pile getting too big again.

Get it. If you are really enjoying Brubaker's run, then have no fears. Get it get it get it. The "Civil War" sub-title is more for sales than anything else. Brubaker just continued trucking right along with all his story and subplots.

He figured that since Cap was one of the two main characters in the actual Civil War series, that instead of doing "in-between" scenes, that he would rather focus on the supporting cast of the Cap book, i.e. Bucky and Sharon. If you have liked the series so far, get it. If you haven't, then this is not your jumping-on point.

Three Whedon books and an a$$load of trades. Looks like it'll be a good week.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer #3--Patricia can read this, but I'm still looking for our copy of #1!! Go ahead, laugh! See if I care! *whimper*
Hellboy: Darkness Calls #1--Only pre-ordered the first issue. This may be where Hellboy and I part ways. I enjoy Fegredo's art, but there is something about Mignola's art that is too intrinsic this series. Hopefull this issue will prove me wrong.

    Checkmate #13--Love this series
    Detective Comics #832--Dini!
SHAZAM!: The Monster Society of Evil #3--:D
Superman #662--I've fallen behind on this series due to our recent move

    Astonishing X-Men #21--Woot!
Captain America: Civil War TP--I wish Marvel would oversize this series
Fantastic Four Visionaries: Walt Simonson TP--OMG! I can not believe they collected these!!! Thank you, you fine people at Marvel's collected works dept.!
Runaways #26--I liked last issue, so I'm happy to see this one!
    Sensational Spider-Man Annual#1
    Wolverine: Civil War TP--Ramos!
Young Avengers & Runaways: Civil War TP--Got it for Zeb Wells's writing.

    Strangers in Paradise #89

Ancient Book of Myth and War HC--Scott Morse!

    Wait for Trade
    -----------------
100 Bullets--Does my waiting heart good to this series back on track
52--I don't think there is a single story point that I haven't been spoiled on at this point, but I'm sure it will still be a good read
    Green Lantern
    Jonah Hex
    Midnighter
    --Maaaaybeeee...
    Teen Titans--For the li'l missus
Strange Girl--Like vol. 1! Need to get vol. 2.
    Avengers: Initiative--Slott!
    Dark Tower: Gunslinger Born
    Incredible Hulk
    --Strong maybe
Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane--McKeever leaving is "teh suck"
    Thunderbolts Presents Zemo: Born Better
    Ultimate Fantastic Four
    Dominion
    --Giffen!

    Incredible Hulk--Strong maybe
I can't recommend the PLANET HULK HC enough. It was a great story, and yeah... like Augie and I joked about in the podcast you can kinda figure out the A, B, and C of the story. But the glory is in the details here. And watching what happens and how is just awesome.

I took the risk and already pre-ordered the Planet Hulk HC. I say "risk" because I really have not liked Pak so far, but the concept, the reveiws, and the discount made me go for it. So that will be one of the big deciding factors on if I get what comes next.

Oh, and I'm so angry at you and Augie for spoiling that one for me!

I'm not sure! Sorry. :) But I keep missing em, but hear good things about it. That's why I'm looking into how it is in this current issue and seeing how the ones in the 1st trade were.
