who'da thought ellis would be working main-ly for image , marvel (!) and avatar (!!!) - no go at vertigo ?
I freaking cannot wait for this one. This is going to be awesome. I wasn't sure we'd ever get Ellis doing an ongoing again.
Will
Avatar has been climbing for years, slowly, slowly, but it has all been positive, every year gets better and better.
From interviews and books, I'd view it as a control thing. Allow these creators to tell their stories; it works if the artist is good with visuals, as Ennis and Ellis, Grant also - they know how to use visuals to make an impact.
It looks to me as if Avatar lets creators create.
Just been reading another interview over at Newsarama. This all sounds very complicated in the most interesting of ways. Love the wiki idea.
Damn it, Ellis! You've taken more of my money!:D

Ellis is also doing Desolation Jones at Wildstorm, which is practically a Vertigo book. And Ocean was just a couple years ago, wasn't it? Really, Ellis has probably done much more work for Wildstorm than Vertigo.
I think Ellis likes working at Avatar because he'll get total freedom there. And maybe his exclusive contract with Marvel prohibits new books at DC.
Is it just me, or does Warren Ellis just sound completely nutso and out of touch with reality?
Not to mention that he's also clearly an anti-American like his buds Alan Moore and our very own Rich Johnston.
Spidey
I haven't seen anything in print that indicates he is out of touch with reality, what were you thinking of?
Don't forget that there is a distinction to be made between being anti-America, and anti-Americans; I'm not sure what it would be to be anti-American unless there was only one American, or perhaps it is to American as anti-matter is to matter?
I think it's just you. I'm not sure what you mean, anyway. Ellis has always been interested in futurism, which I suppose can make you look pretty wacky if some of the predictions don't turn out.
Again, what? (actually, an even bigger what?) I certainly don't see any evidence in that interview. I know he's not a big fan of the current American government, but that's not the same thing. And Alan Moore? Say what? Not to mention that he's also clearly an anti-American like his buds Alan Moore and our very own Rich Johnston.
Is anti-American what the Brittish being called now a days? Not to mention that he's also clearly an anti-American like his buds Alan Moore and our very own Rich Johnston.
Seems like a sane, sensible person to me.:) I get the feeling the online persona of Warren Ellis is but a small part of his personality. Also try not to confuse the writer with the characters in his stories. Is it just me, or does Warren Ellis just sound completely nutso and out of touch with reality?
