    Default The Polaris Thread

Well, I've looked everywhere and I didn't find a thread for Lorna... so this is the Polaris thread, for Polaris fans, for general discussion about and appreciation of Polaris, Mistress of Magnetism.

Will Lorna stay in space after War of Kings? Will she ever return to Earth? Should she stay together with her current lover, Havok? What's the exact nature of her artificial powers? Will she ever reunite with Magneto? What's her backstory? Will we ever learn more information about Susanna 'Dane' from the 616? Which of Lorna's costumes is your favourite?

    Discuss this here.

    Oh, yeah.

For some fans who still haven't visited, that will lead you to Project Polaris, a small forum for Polaris fans about Lorna. The actual website has not been updated since late 2005 (decimation). Most of the fans left and gave up after Polaris was depowered.

    INFORMATION FOR NEW POLARIS FANS

If you want to get some info on Lorna's recent background, I recommend-

    Magneto: Dark Seduction (#1- #4)
    New X-Men #132
    Uncanny X-Men #430- #431
    Uncanny X-Men #442- #443
    X-Men #187

If you want to see what she's up to right now, I recommend:

    Uncanny X-Men #475, Uncanny X-Men #486
    X-Men: Emperor Vulcan trade (#1- #5)
    X-Men: Kingbreaker (#1- #4)
    War of Kings (#1- #6)

Other stuff you may want to pick up includes House of M: Civil War #1- #5, but that's all in an altered 616.

Also, the current series of Exiles features Polaris prominently and is highlu recommended for any new Polaris fan.

You could also go back and read PAD's X-Factor run (in trades), but it's recommended, as I did, to only read those issues once you know Lorna well enough.

And this http://www.uncannyxmen.net/db/spotli...=10&fldAuto=58 is uncannyxmen.net's biography on Polaris, with literally everything you need to know about her and her history up until August 2007.

Lorna is fun! But I fear she wont come back at the end of this arc.

I think Lorna will be left in space, which isn't optimal but at least it keeps her out of death events for awhile.

She is my favorite X-character, so I'm always hoping for her to get some respect. She's really among the most powerful remaining mutants, or at least an approximation thereof.

Of course. Where are all the green-haired women in real life?

I saw her first dude! :evilangry

I love Lorna. :o She could be leader of the X-Men if a writer was capable of doing so.

Havoc would have to go away. Far away. Limbo, death, Mutant X universe, wutever; just go away Alex and never come back.

Brubaker burns for leaving them in space together!:evilsmile

In that middle image, she looks like Jennifer Connely who, imo, would be an awesome Lorna!

I don't think you want me to get into this because I kind of get carried away when I do, because I highly disagree with both. :p

p.s. I freakin love Lorna, and only want the best for her, and that doesn't include being in space or with Alex.

I hope Brubaker does something with Polaris (and Havok).

Polaris has done so little in Uncanny recently, that having her speak or use her powers only happens once or twice in an issue.

But... Brubaker wrote her really well in UXM 475 and 478. The beginning of this arc where she was running away from the anti-apocalypse group and some scenes with Alex and Warpath in 478 were highlights so far of what he's done.
