I've never read this before but it looks pretty good i'll have to pic this up.

I remember Madman.
The guy called Frank Einstein (Frankenstein . . . get it?) named after Frank Sinatra and Albert Einstein (I guess Albert Sinatra wouldn't have the same kick, but I digress.)
His gal pal Joe,the android called Astroman (Let me guess . . . he was supposed to be a grown up version of Osamu Tezuka's boy robot).
Yeah, I remember Madman.
Glad to hear he's coming.Now I'd like to pose a question for you . . .
Would you consider Madman a superhero comic? (Not that THAT'S a bad thing, mind you)

I'm definitely picking this up tomorrow. Those preview pages look great!
Madman sometimes is a superhero comic. I guess you'd have to say it is, but it's more of a somewhat modern take on silver age comics than it is an X-Men book. I'd have to say it's as much of an adventure comic as a superhero book.
does anyone know if this actually came out? i didn't see it anywhere this week
Yes, it's definitely out. I picked it up today at my LCS. By the way, the back cover advertises the MADMAN GARGANTUA, 852 page hardcover collecting all of the previous MADMAN saga. It retails for $125, but I see Amazon is selling it for $79. Don't know if I'll bite on the Gargantua edition, but the new first issue is a nice (re)introduction to Frank and the gang.

Midtown Comics in NYC has it listed for the 11th.
North Dakota got it. I don't know their distribution zone. I know we got that last Seven Soldiers a week late.
I picked it up on a whim. I never read the original series, but I've been falling in love with Allred's art elsewhere. Having read this new one, I'm tempted to pick up that megabook once it finally publishes.
This issue was really good. Loved the story and artwork. I have read Madman sporadically the last few years so I was out of the loop with what is going on. I am seriously about to go out and pick up the gargantuan edition now. Forgot how much I missed Madman. Can't wait to catch up.
The new issue was great. I'm really looking forward to the next one! One thing I noticed - the coloring was really great this time around. It's usually great, but now there's some subtle textures in there that weren't present in the earlier stuff.
I'm totally going to have to dig up all the old Madman issues and plow through 'em again.
I've never read any Madman comics before, so I went into this completely blind - and I really enjoyed it, bonkers as it was.
Finally found a copy today at the shop. I enjoyed it, but found it a bit on the confusing side. I'll read through again tonight and check up on the wiki for the character to patch in some of the fuzzy spots. I'll be picking the next issue up for sure.
