CBRdraws: SILVER SURFER

CBRdraws is simple. We pick a character from comics, games, cartoons, whatever, and then people post their own drawings of that character.

It never closes, so its not like you have to do a drawing by the end of the week, but if you want a challenge each week to draw something you didn't expect to, it might be a good excercise.

No level of skill required, this is just for fun. It can be a splash page or part of a story. It can be penicils, inks, colors, paint, photography... really anything goes.

Still, I'm fairly happy with it, since it was my first almost entirely digital piece. Anyone got any suggestions on how I could save it?

Troy, the only suggestion I could offer is to maybe trust your awesome shading and line work enough to let that be much darker, perhaps even solid black. If those lines were smoothed out and a bit more defined, it would help the colors do their job. It's an easier technique to show rather than explain, so I'll just drop this in here as an example, since both drawings have similar concepts:

Wow, thanks, man...that's really good advice. I think I was too in love with the "colored outline" look that I've seen so many people pull off beautifully, and which I'm not quite talented enough to pull off yet.

I'll try and play with the line more next time. Really appreciate the feedback, Acerbus!
