Thread: Love Hina

    Default Love Hina

Well I was just wondering if this series will ever be continued. Because at the very end of the last volume the author says that she is considering continuing the story...do you know if there is any news about this?
Also is the anime worth checking out?

    No, it's over.

I wasn't a big LH fan. I much preferred Maison Ikkoku, which it was very obviously an "inspiration" to LH (and which I found vastly superior).
The monster saved them all. And in their fear, they betrayed him. As they always have. As they always will.

Hmm, is Maison Ikkoku out in us?
And when did it come out?

Ah yes, one of my all time favourite manga series.
No, as far as I know it won't be continued. Akamatsu is busy making Negima!, after all.

From what I hear, the anime is not as good as the manga, yet still watchable.

Correction; the author is THE man. ;)

Maison Ikkoku was first published in the '80's.

It's been out in the US for years and years now.

And yes, it really is that damn good. :)

Another manga series made by Ken Akamatsu.

    Copied summary from ANN:

After graduated from a magic academy, 10-year-old genius boy Negi Springfield was assigned to a huge Japanese school as an English teacher for practical training. To his surprise, the 8th grade class assigned for him is all-girl. In addition to teaching (and being teased by) those 31 pretty girls while trying to keep his magic capability in secret, he's also looking for clues about his father, who was once known as "Thousands Master" but mysteriously disappeared years ago.

Hmm. I guess our analog would go: 'I like my real-life like my eroge heroines: flat and two-dimensional.'

A lack of detail on the body means it is not meant to be erotic or titillating. Instead it is used for humor or to drive the action in the scene. So when it is shown as a manaquin body the point is the laugh and not fan service.

    What Hikari said.

I'd add that Negima! is more action-oriented then Love Hina, though, with some clear Shounen tendencies. (Martial arts, fighting demons, etc.)

But it's inofficially set in the same world as Love Hina, so if you liked LH you should enjoy Negima! as well.

Actually, Negima! is even worse then Love Hina when it comes to nudity verging on softcore porn. And that's really saying something. :p

They do, we just don't actually get to see them. ;)

You know, I love Rumiko Takahashi's work, but when I compare her to Akamatsu I can't help but come to the conclusion that he's a genius at precisely the stuff she sucks at. I don't consider either better then the other; they're like apples and oranges.

Haven't read or seen Maison Ikkoku, though. *makes mental note to do so*
