I seem to have lost the ability to use the buttons that format text, insert links, and so on. Also, none of the smilie buttons work. Any idea about what's going on?

They seem to be working for me, Tami. Might be a browser issue of some sort on your end.

Try this go to User CP. On the side click on Option. Scroll down to Miscellaneous Options. Look at Message Editor Interface. There should been a pull down menu with three choices. Basic Editor, Standard Editor, and Enhanced Interface. If you want the buttons, it should be on Standard Editor or and Enhanced Interface.
