I just saw an ep of "The Best Years" last night. Its actually not bad. But at least now I know why Brandon Jay McLauren didn't do the teampu ep: he's got second billing and character is dating the main character. Yeah talk about a huge schedule conflict. It would have been cool seeing him work with his girlfriend in the teamup ep. ;)

Instead of giving us some evil son wizard reject, bring us back the real king of evil: Lord Zedd.

Its weird, its like its a good idea, but ONLY if we'll see more of it. Otherwise its an unnecessary tease. This is the first season that seems aimless villain wise, and Thrax (couldn't they have come up with a better name?) was powerful enough to unite them all plus smart enough to lead them into victory (the first time anyway). As of now, Flurious has been wasted, Moltar is kinda the "main" villain but he's still sharing the spotlight with the Fear Cats and Kamdor. I'm wondering if Flurious has something up his sleeve to be The Big Bad so they won't have to recreate the final eps but use the Sentai Footage, if he'll become Gaja appearance wise. But that's not likely. I'm enjoying the show, but I get the feeling the final eps will culminate into one big mess. :(

Flurious seemed to be the only cool one. Make him the ultimate evil until Zedd comes and rips them all apart.

I didn't mind the fact that Thrax was the son of Zedd and Rita, but the whole origin could've been written better (less slo-mo, more story development!). It would've been more fitting if his grudge spanned all of the Ranger Legacy (especially since this was an anniversary episode), rather than just the Sentinel Knight, and I would've rather have him get revenge on the Rangers as a whole for turning his parents into beings of good.

Also, it was pure bullcrap that Sentinel Knight finished him off so easily. I mean, one, it completely invalidated Adam's fight scenes (which were the best choreographed of the bunch), it ruined the connection Thrax had to the original MMPR, and Sentinel Knight was so much more powerful that it's hard to believe that he and Thrax were rivals before.

Did anyone else notice they use the themes for each Ranger's respective season, EXCEPT Adam's? They don't own the rights to the show pre Wild Force?

Aye, and it was quite annoying and glaring. In my opinion, either use all their songs, or use none of them and just go with original music (just like what they did for Forever Red). With the first option, Disney would have to pay Saban to use the old MMPR theme (less fireworks, more music!), or with the second option, the scenes would've been much more fluid and dynamic, like Forever Red.

I'm just so disappointed at the Powers That Be when it comes to this episode. I'm not even talking about continuity or tidbits or nits like the average fanboy, I'm just talking about making a quality episode, both from a narrative and creation standpoint.

    Eight episodes to go.

Yesterday I finally watched "Ronny On Empty II". I can't help but get the feeling the writers WANT to develop a Will/Ronny ship, but they're holding back for some reason. Maybe when the final ep comes around, a la Nick and Madison on Mystic Force.

Looking over the Boukeranger clips and info, Flurious is, for all intents and purposes, Gaja, despite having a different appearance. I just wonder why they're barely using him? Maybe since Gaja features prominently in the finale just having Flurious suddenly show up and take over wouldn't make sense, so they're just kinda "reminding" us he's there with his cameos? But why not use him all along? I wonder if they'll use the Sentai finale footage wholesale or...what? I'm just curious, cause while Flurious is the most impressive visually, he's the most unnecessary at this point. And the Yeti...seriously who's idea was that? I'm sure Kelson Henderson could have done any number of things other than that to stay on the payroll. Various voice work or something. Maybe he'll be the cat sensei next season.

Dax continues to annoy me. He's not as annoying as he was before the ep where he was (unbeknown to him) dating Mira, but he's still pretty close.

    Rose...I think I love you.

Tyzonn is interesting in that he has no tact and is very eager but isn't annoying. Kind of reminds me of Bridge that way.

I also hope they finally solve the mystery surrounding Mac that Andrew Hartford keeps hinting at. My guess is that Mac is the final jewel given human form somehow.

Hey new guy here, I posted a couple time a few years back.
Anyway, the last new ep Things Not Said was amazingly acted, executed and just such a good display of science fiction.

And what a twist with Mack, now everything makes sense.

And I think Hartford could be the big bad.

It was ruined by looking at that disgraceful bastard child Thrax.
Adam was awesome, and it was great to see him back, but that can't support this blunder of a series.
They need to just stop PR altogether.

James MacLurcan always standing there with his mouth open, regardless of what mood he's trying to convey, is kinda distracting. In spite of that I agree, I just wish they turned it up a notch, but then again this is Disney. I'm surprised it ended the way it did, which was a good ending IMO cause not everything should be wrapped up in a nice bow at the end of an episode all the time.

It was still kinda lame, but I guess they had to make him special SOME way: I'm guessing this is the new norm for Red Rangers that began with Nick from last year.

And I think Hartford could be the big bad.
    Based on what exactly?

Hartford secrecy any want of total control. He could find the right women so he built a son. His son wants to be human so he'll gather the jewels and /make/ Mack human. But he'll wind up getting consumed with all that power and probably be a threat to the Rangers and the Villains.

Another thought on Mack is that Flurious will pop one of his Gyro machines inside him and use him against the Rangers.

And they have been building this plotline up subtly but surely. In episode one Spencer said he set the machine just for Mack which meant there was something different about him. All that machine really did was tell Mack's sensor to unlock his super strength. So go back and watch the older eps, that muscle power has some meaning to it now more so than all the unmorphed mutant powers the Rangers have been using.

Remember the drill zord? Hartword was probably testing Mack's limits there.

When Ronny got captured, Hartford said to forget about her. Combined with this episode we now know that Hartford WILL do anything to achieve what he wants. He's creepy and he has way too much money.

Naw, I don't have to rewatch the eps to know there's no chance in hell of Hartford becoming a villain.

Power Rangers, though sometimes innovative, does have a set of archetypes it follows pretty much without fail. Namely Hartford is, essentially, Zordon, with Spencer Alpha 6.

Second, Hartford making a son for himself might make him creepy, but it doesn't make him evil, not by a long shot.

Third, be even revealing that Mack is an android they've already telegraphed how the show will end. What did they say about the Aurora Corona? It can either create a great catastrophe or create a GREAT MIRACLE. Gee, I wonder what that miracle could be?

Will you never know, Hartford could pull a Anton Mercer on us.

When the heck did this air? I mean, I guess I could have checked the schedule, but, um, yeah, I never caught it.

The last Power Rangers series I liked was Ninja Storm. :(
