Default Hey! Anime Super fans!! HELP!!!

I've been out of the loop for quite a while, (let's just say, I remember when the only way to get anime was bootleg tapes in underground coimic shops). I used to be into Riding Bean, Guyver, Golgo 13, Baoh, Ninja Scroll, and Akira, and the like. Now, if you notice, these are all Adult Anime (no, not Hentai). My question to you all is, whatever happened to the mature, hyperviolent, anime toons? Are they still out there? Would anyone care to recommend them to me? It seems like all I see is watered down kid stuff on cartoon network and the millions of DVD series that are equally annoying. Any help would be appreciated!

If you want violence, Hellsing (Which they have a new series of)
A new Guyver anime is out
There is also Elfen Lied, which is bloody as heck too. It does have nudity, but it's not like Hentai or anything.

Don't on on ebay or at least be careful. Sure, download all you want, but don't waste money on bootlegs. That's just wrong.

    Some bootleg warning signs.

As for ultraviolence, Hellsing and Gantz do rule. Though the mangas are better. In the anime they invent endings. Though they're redoing Hellsing in the new Hellsing Ultimate OVA.

Also, buy or rent Gantz. The eps floating around online are most all edited for Japanese TV.

I think that's from the Burn Up series.

It's a kinda generic fanservicey action show. There are a number of different series of it.

Be warned a lot of classic anime has been redone, re-envisioned. The result is always vastly different in tone from the original. Movies such as Fist of The North Star and Ninja Scroll were remade into new anime series and while they were good fans of the original were upset that the material had very little to do with the original source.

In other cases the new series can be better than the original. For instance Vampire Hunter D bloodlust was a better movie than the original. My point is to do research before you buy anything and don’t let an update on a movie or series you loved convince you to part with your money before reading up on what you are purchasing.

If you liked Ninja Scroll, you seriously need to check out Samurai Champloo. It's like Ninja Scroll with a big injection of pure Awesome.

YouTube used to be a haven of free anime. Unfortunately, since Google took over they let the suits run rampant and delete stuff like crazy. :(

Indeed, I was incredibly pissed when they removed FMA, Gundam Wing, and a few others from YouTube.

I was well into the second season of Ranma½, subbed and with good quality, but now finding episodes that aren't in Spanish is a major pain. :(
