Based on what I've seen of the trailers, I doubt I'll make a trip to the theaters for this one. It will likely be one for which I'll wait for the rental.

Passion is nice wherever you find it. Character is what matters, not gender or race.

The movie from the trailers looks terrible.
I actually liked what I saw in the trailers...but i assume thats because it looks like what i expected a semi campy cartoon from a long time ago to look in updated form. Although for those of you longing for the old days can at least try to win the mach 5...or at least a retrofitted '68 convertible made to look like the mach 5...
just go here
i could see myself tooling around in that on the weekends.
its like Hot Wheels AcceleRacers on exstacy meets the aforementioned Stallone film "driven". with a dash of spy kids and pixar's "cars" thrown in for good measure lol...
Okay, before this thread this is what I knew about Tish, zip, zero, nada.
I now know that Tish is a heavily armed, black, bi-sexual, truck driving woman who likes going to the clubs.
I don't think I learned this much about Tom in six months let alone one post. - Boldido
I'm begining to like Tish more and more, that's what I know. - cable guy

"Speed Racer" - The CBR Review
CBR reviews "Speed Racer," the new film written and directed by the Wachowski Bros. ("The Matrix" trilogy) and based on the classic anime television series, opening this weekend in the US.

I loathed the cartoon, and had no intention whatsoever of seeing this film, despite availability of free screenings, but a friend whose opinion I trust saw it, and said it's brilliant, so I'm going to see it this weekend.

"Everybody's Waiting," Six Feet Under finale episode

I read on a message board (I don't think it was this one) where someone described this as looking like "Batman & Robin with cars", I agree with 'em 100%
I was just about to post the same thing. My favorite quotes:
"Speed Racer has the dubious distinction of being the only movie I've ever sat through while wishing I'd been born colorblind."
"Imagine someone pouring hot, melted Starburst candies into your corneas, and you just begin to approximate the experience of Speed Racer, an ice-cream headache of a movie ... "
"I can sit through just about anything, but I draw the line at two hours and 15 minutes of fuchsia vomit. To suffer through this kind of hell, movie critics deserve combat pay. "
Saw it. Loved it. One of those movies that make you feel like you can do anything.
Wonder if it'll make enough for a sequel?
