I don't know. We know that his first scenes are as the Joker and not some low-level hoodlum or whatever the latest origin is. At least that's what Nolan said in one of the above links.

But if any more information was released I'm unaware of, I can definitely be wrong.

I didn't hear Andy Dick when I heard it. It sounded like some weird voice cross between Joker from The Batman and Joker from BTAS. Which is kinda cool in my opinion.

The fact they've not only changed Joker's apperance from bleached skin pigmentation and hair drastically to face paint and facial scarring but are not including any origin for him to justify the changes disappoints me.

Justify what changes? In the film, The Joker never had bleached skin or hair, so there aren't any changes to justify.

Have the comics finally nailed down an origin for the Joker? It's just a more realistic interpretation of Batman. I can appreciate that, all these different interpretations are cool. I'm hoping that eventually we'll get a Batman movie with a much more noirish setting (maybe a movie based on The Long Halloween) but I'm cool with what they're doing.

I'm just of the view if it's not broke, don't try to to fix it. It's worked fine for nearly 70 years. The Joker's aesthetic blueprint was fine as is. If they are going to change that, a reason would be nice.
