No, she'd written the letter beforehand. She was reacting to the press conference as-it-happened, as I recall.

Thinking about it, why didn't Gordon and Batman try to pin Harvey's crimes on the Joker's organization instead of making Bats the fall guy? With as many crimes as Joker had commited, and cops having been favorite targets of him, the public could have bought it easily.

Should have read this before, although I'm still a bit unwilling to fully buy this sort of explanation.

Granted I went at 10:45PM on Friday and 11:30PM on Saturday, but I only saw about 5 kids between both showings. It was packed Friday, and about 90% of the audience was upper teens/lower twentys with a good male and female mix. Four of the previous 5 showings were sold out both times I went, and it was playing on four screens at the theatre.

I went at 12:30 p.m., so I was expecting to see more than two children.

If you were police commish, would you take a phone call right after you launched a rescue mission?

How do you figure? Its already broken 3 box-office records and was one of the most highly anticipated movies of all time.
So I guess Pirates of The Carribean 2 was a history making event?

Just saying, but news reports I heard on Friday went out of their way to say that The Dark Knight is *not* a movie for kids.

I was curious more than anything. I remember my dad taking me to see Batman Returns.

    Interesting, very, very interesting.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.

I wish they had held off on the Two-Face plot for a sequel, I don't think it was given proper attention and was forced. They should have just ended the Dent storyline with his disfigurement. The ending was terrible, why would Batman take the blame when he could have easily blamed the Joker or his crew for Two-faces crimes. I don't know why this movie has got to me the way it has, but the more I think about it the worse it gets to me. This was by far to me the worse genre film I have seen this year.
You are dead on with this statement. I too think they could have split this into two films. While I thought the film was great, the ending was less than good.

I thought, even with the juggernaut of super awesomeness that was The Joker, Two-Face managed to be a pretty cool baddie. At first, spoilers:
I thought him dying was too premature
end of spoilers, but, then again, I think it makes sense. We got what he was about as Two-Face and it wasn't forced to me at all. I thought the whole process of Harvey Dent evolving into Harvey Two-Face felt very organic. And I loved the 'whatever' kinda crazy he had going on, which contrasted with the more colorful psychosis Joker was packing in his noggin. A more ... methodical, paced sort of insanity.
