A little fat kid running out after a big explosion, plugging one of Bay's previous films would be a given with a Bay directed Batman movie.

"Imagination is a quality given a man to compensate him for what he is not, and a sense of humour was provided to console him for what he is."
not officially.
it's out june 8.
but it's all over the internet right now, so i guess it depends on your pov.
I scored an advance copy from my A.D..![]()
I'll probably try to find & watch it later today.
Well the reason for all the hype about Ledger is because he's dead. That's not a knock against the guy , just simply a reaction to the last thing (the way I understand it this isn't the last thing he worked on, just the last to be released, could be wrong) we will see from the guy and so everyone is uber excited about it. If Bale had died we'd be hearing the same thing.
Tied into that though is that this is the first time since '89 that Joker has been on the big screen in a live action movie. Since Burton killed him off and the others decided to keep with Burton's beginnings, the most well known comicbook villain hasn't been seen anywhere else except the DCAU. Not only that but it promises to be a new direction for the Joker, just as Nicholson's portrayl was different than Caesar Romero's so that also has fans and movie-goers excited.
Plus the first chance at a good Two-Face.
truth^
hey, is the citizens for Batman stuff gonna be in the movie at all(i've done my best to avoid spoilers, scenes, and too many long trailers so far)? Cause if so, that's another DKR-like thing right there imo. The sons of the Bat and all that....

Ledger was working on another film when he died. TDK is his last completed film as he died before he'd wrapped whatever it was (I think a Terry Gilliam movie?) he was working on.

That's right. Totally couldn't remember. I blame the lack of sleep.
Exactly. Well said.
If Nolan doesn't like Robin, then more power to him, he should definitely not include him in the series.
If he doesn't think Robin can be done realistically (and I've never heard him say this, by the way, I've only heard people speculate), then he's really worrying over nothing. Because frankly, Batman can't be done realistically either.
We're already flowing him a tremendous amount of suspension of disbelief in that regard. A teen sidekick isn't gonna strain that to the breaking point.

Christian Bale made a comment/joke about refusing to come to work if Robin was added.
And personally, I don't see it fitting in Nolan's Bat-verse... then again, I've never really been a fan of Robin.
Yeah, I read that. Said he would chain himself up and refuse to come to work. And considering the dangerous amount of weight he lost for The Machinist, he's probably nuts enough to do it.![]()
AICN doesn't seem to trust the source that reported that quote, for whatever that's worth.
