Yup, it's also gonna cure lepers, raise the dead, and turn ordinary every day water into wine.

I really have a hard time believing this will be better than A History of Violence or American Splendor.
Unless, of course, you simply equate "comic book" with "superhero".
We will have to see i think it will be a great film but initial reviews mean nothing to me i wasnt a big BB fan but the initial reviews where white hot but 3 years down the line these reviews have cooled somewhat.

I think they are smarter than to try to tie everything into RAG. I much prefer the alternative theory that perhaps Scarecrows powder had something to do with the Joker going nuts. But that was mentioned so long ago, who knows if it will turn out to be real or not.

Joker has no story arc. Joker has no origin. He just is. There will be no explination.
Yup. He's like an act of God. No warning, just BAM there he is.

I watched Batman: Gotham Knight last night... I posted my review of it in the "what have you watched recently" thread.
BEHOLD THE DARK KNIGHT: Producers talk IMAX
“The Dark Knight” producers Charles Roven and Emma Thomas tell CBR News about the benefits and difficulties of using IMAX cameras to film the Batman sequel, including what sequences were shot in the oversized format

Kevin Smith's brief DARK KNIGHT review:
Without giving anything away, this is an epic film (and trust me: based on the sheer size and scope of the visuals and storytelling, that’s not an overstatement). It’s the “Godfather II” of comic book films and three times more earnest than “Batman Begins” (and fuck, was that an earnest film). Easily the most adult comic book film ever made. Heath Ledger didn’t so much give a performance as he disappeared completely into the role; I know I’m not the first to suggest this, but he’ll likely get at least an Oscar nod (if not the win) for Best Supporting Actor. Fucking flick’s nearly three hours long and only leaves you wanting more (in a great way). I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed by it. Nolan and crew have created something close to a masterpiece.
If what I said can be interpreted as something else and I offended you, I meant the OTHER thing.

I might find that comforting if I had even a modicum of respect for Smith's creative instincts.
Not only will The Dark Knight be screening in IMAX at The Palms in Las Vegas, but artist Lee Bermejo will unveil his custom Joker print during opening weekend:

I read an interview ith Nolan the oter day where he stated that there won't be any deleted scenes on the DVD of TDK... because everything they filmed is in the theatrical release.
I hope all the viral stuff end up on the special edition DVD, though.
