    Default Trades

Hey Tony, did you ever make contact with the company that is producing trades of Negation ( and other CG stuff )_

If so, what did they say about your suggestions.

Did you ask them why not reproduce route 666 ( 13-18 )

    thanks

    Default What happened at Marvel??

Why is Tony not working at Marvel????

Exiles was selling a rock solid 33-35k per month. , This puts it well ahead of a lot of other books getting a much bigger push from marketing.

He brought many people like me into the Exiles fold, until Tony I had never purchased a issue of Exiles ( now I have 5 of the first 6 trades and every issue from 62-till now

He showed his versatility with Mystic, Route 666 and Negation.

The only writers I put at or above his writing ability are Bendis, Millar and Brubaker.

JMs on FF was a train wreck, Dan Way on Volverine and Ghost rider weak, Dan Slott is fine and I could go on

What was the issue that forced my favorite comic writer to DC, where I only buy JSA & Green Lantern

No, I didn't contact that company. I think I tried sending an email or something, but didn't really go after it whole hog.

And, frankly, I don't think they'd be in a hurry to hear from me when they probably have very full workloads anyway.

As for leaving Marvel, it's not like I was forced out or walked out in a huff. It's just that more opportunities were opening up at DC as they were dwindling at Marvel. This is a very common thing -- as a creator you go through mini life-cycles at companies. It's kind of like dating. You don't enter every relationship expecting a lifelong marriage. You have a lot of passion at the beginning, you settle into a comfortable routine, and eventually the relationship peters out and you play the field again. It doesn't mean anyone at Marvel actively dislikes me or anything like that. I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel and I end up "dating" again. But right now DC is the one putting out for me, and DC is a damn good kisser, to boot!

Yeah, okay...maybe I'm taking that metaphor a step too far, but I hope you're get my point. I also hope you check out more stuff from DC. Both of the Big Two publish good stuff.

Personally, I'm very, very pleased that you're over at DC. As much love as I have for your Exiles run (it was always at the top of the reading stack every month), I've become really disenchanted with Marvel's direction lately.

As for DC, I'm having so much fun and falling in love with so many titles right now that having my favorite writer onboard just makes it that much better.

And just out of curiosity, if DC decided that they wanted to do an "Exiles-esque" series for the return of the multiverse, would you want to write it? Or do you feel like you've "been there, done that"?

That's actually a VERY interesting idea. Of course, they have Judd Winick, who started the whole Exiles ball rolling...but I might have to have a talk with Mike Marts about that...
