    Default Maxim on the block?

The once highly profitable Maxim magazine has been in a continued sales slump, and its billionaire owner is now shopping the magazine to other publishers.

    I really don't care.

    Well, I kinda do care.

I don't read it regularly or anything, but if you want something to read on the plane that can occupy you with silly manliness for about 3 hours, a Maxim is good for that. Plus, it's chock-full of little ideas for fiction writers in the various articles (espescially the how-to stuff).

It'll be a shame if it collapses. Where will men go for their Cosmo equivalent?

I mean, why buy the magazine when you can get the porn for free?

It's a fair cop. The internet can give you everything Maxim does x 1000.

Of course, the same can be said for almost every magazine in print, hence the reason magazines are not doing so well these days.

I've been reading Maxim since 2001 and my current Christina Aguilera issue deserves to be framed. Let's go Maxim!

    There's still Stuff and a half-dozen other almost-interchangeable magazines.

I thought Stuff was a sub-publication of Maxim (or FHM). If they go under, doesn't Stuff soon follow?

When the New York Times is looking to possibly cease publication, nothing else seems to matter

I shouldnt have said nothing else seems to matter, but rather, nothing is off limits.

The internet has opened up so many different doors and opportunities for journalism and commerce, it's frightening to some and exciting to others. The 'net could really change to face and practice of the news media if it hasn't already.
