Ultimate Knights

So judging by the solicits, the Knights are made up of Moon Knight, Shiang Chi, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Dr. Strange. That's a good collection, although I'd like to see a female character in there somewhere. But I wonder about Daredevil including Dr. Strange, as he's clearly just as inexperienced as Peter, and Daredevil bitches Pete out any time they get near each other. Actually, I imagine DD will assemble the others and then Dr. Strange will be a big last page reveal, one now ruined by modern solicitation techniques. Ah well.

DD is the one ultimization that I enjoy seeing written pretty much in line with his 616 counterpart. All the characters that have their own books should be as different as possible from the 616, but since DD is pretty much only present in the context of Ult. Spidey, I think it makes a lot of sense to write him without any major changes to his age or characterisation. I think an Ult. DD book would be superfluous, but I wouldn't mind seeing him as an occasional mentor to Pete.

But where does the ultimate Ronin fit into any of this? Plus the solicts mention a trader from the Knights group sidding with the Kingpin. I'm super excited about the Ultimate Knights arc.

Ronin is stale? He/she's been in 4 issues of NA. Whatever, opinions. I think Elektra as Ronin might be a half decent theory, the suit maybe being some sort of life support thing considering the last time we saw her she had a Moonerang stuck in the back of her head, and she doesn't have the Hand Ex Machina to bring her back to life in this continuity. Also, Jessica Jones is supposed to make her Ultimate debut in this arc. That's one I'm really looking forward to. She's easily the most interesting character Marvel has at their disposal. Seeing how her relationship might have gone with Peter will be great. Forget MJ, Kitty, CarnGwen...Peter should jump Jessica. He needs a girl who'll kick his ass a little.

Maybe Ronin here will really be Bullseye. The Kingpin needs a new #1 hit man. And Bullseye here uses disguises a lot to get close to his targets.

technically, a female playing a male role - theatrically or otherwise - is referred to by the gender of the role they're playing, and the ronin is an emphatically male character, so still 'he' - plus echo as ronin is old news anyway, and most of the debate about who's in the suit now seems to be swinging between hawkeye and daredevil.

i'm really not into the whole 'secret character in disguise' thing as a concept, that's all - it's something that starts out cool, but gets boring really quick, especially if the comic keeps changing the person in the suit, ergot using the same idea over and over.

as much as i like echo, i'd rather see her as herself, and ditto for whomever they've put in the ronin guise now, ESPECIALLY if it's hawkeye.

Bah your not reading it very well if you think 616 DD is the same as Ultimate DD.

You ever seen DD snarl and swear at Spidey then lob a billyclub at him? (when not under the influence of drugs/villians/booze etc)

616 DD is Matt Murdock

Ultimate DD is Daredevil, he is pulling a Goddam Batman, Daredevil is nasty bastard while Matt is all smilles and sunshine.
