What is the best FF game?

I have never played an FF game in my life, but I hear they are very good, so could anybody reccommend which one is the best and I don't have a PS or PS2, so which is the best one for GC

Uh...options are severely limited for Gamecube. And far from the best of the series. I think Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles is the only one, IIRC.

Do you have a GBA or DS? A lot of the older FFs have been released on those two systems, and many of them are outstanding games, if a little retro.

This is true. The best Fantasic Four game involves playing Ultimate Alliance as the Fantastic Four. Even has Doctor Doom as the final boss. The F4 movie game is also quite tolerable. Avoid the original Playstation game.

Speaking of Final Fantasy, if you have a Gameboy or Gameboy Player for your cube get the remake of FFVI. That's probably my favorite.

I like Tactics and 12 because they don't play exactly like the others, especially Tactics.

The Original Tactics, by far. That job system was the shizzy, almost complete control of my character. Loved it. Thums up. Bravo. Golf clap. Scrot hoist.

If you liked that I highly reccomend a ps1 game for you to try. Vandal hearts 1 (2 wasnt as good). Same type of gameplay and I loved it to death. I bought it purely on a whim at bestbuy one saturday I was bored. Was easier than FFT but I liked it more. First game outside of a pc I actually saw someone curse to, had same impact on me as seeing the southpark movie for the first time.

Back on topic. For gamecube? Thats tough since I think all you get on there is crystal chronicles and I didnt like it at all.

You can always download a emulator and play the older ones on your pc if you want. Final fantasy 3 (in US that is) for super nintendo was by far my favorite FF and if not my all time favorite rpg its damn close.

Final Fantasy 6 is getting ported to the GBA some time soon. I hope the odd translations ("Me go to funeral?") get cleaned up.

I kinda hope they leave in vanish/doom, though.

I've heard that Sketch and Evade are fixed, but the Vanish/Doom exploit is gone, sorry.

and i was gonna get marvel ultimate alliance for the wii but it was sold out
