Default Anime series with good music?

I love excellent music in anime (especially recent sounding stuff and not always classical) that is almost always playing in the background. The best example of this would probably be FLCL as the music in thier was awesome, but another example would be Infinite Ryvius's techno music in the battle scenes (that was pretty cool too). What other series have preferably good music combined with intense battle scenes?

Hmm. I guess our analog would go: 'I like my real-life like my eroge heroines: flat and two-dimensional.'

I really dig the Black Heaven (Kacho Oji) soundtrack but it took forever to find along with the bonus disc which makes it IMO.
Cowboy Bebop is awesome, Nausicaa, and I really dig the keyboard/classical mix in Char's Counterattack a LOT.

If you like the techno stuff[aka. J-pop] you'll like Initial D; they use it almost exclusively for their race scenes.

    Preach it.

I'm especially a fan of Kanno's work on Escaflowne.

I've recently been watching Tenchi Muyo! GPX, and I've discovered that I really like the music. It's mostly character themes and background tunes, but it has really high standard and in some scenes the music really makes all the difference. :)

Noir. The gunfight music is usually Salva Nos or Canta Per Me. (composer is Yuki Kajiura.)

I don't know why I'm mentioning it, because personally I either hatedthem or merely ignored them, but plenty of fans get all geeked over the soundtracks to .Hack/SIGN, Noir, Madlax and anything by the composer Yuki Kajura.

Bebop and FLCL should go without saying. Actually, any Yoko Kanno should go without saying. I had the pleasure of meeting her in New York at a con and got her to sign this expensive CD box set. She really is like an older real life Ed, except a musician instead of a hacker.

Except for one odd baroque ballroom piece, I really dig the Berserk soundtrack. Behilet and the battle theme Forces are both pretty awesome. Sure, the English in the opening theme doesn't make sense (saw it again the other night), but it's still a fun song.

Also, I love the Hellsing TV soundtrack. Some amazing and undefinable music there. Though at the same time I understand how the original author and new director of the remake series wanted a more classical score this time.

Ranma 1/2 - The OP/ED songs of this series are unmatched. Of the dozens of vocal songs the series had, there's not a single one I disliked. A lot of the songs were sang by the cast members too, which is always nice. The BGM within the series was pretty well done as well.

Last Exile - very epic soundtrack and a pretty great anime as well. The episode that plays the "Sky writing" song while showing various scenes was incredibly touching.

Hanaukyo Maid Team La Verite - beautiful soundtrack. Very soft, easy going instrumental and piano songs.

Tsukihime - man, how could I have forgotten this one. The soundtrack is incredible. The soundtrack is dark, to match the series, but it's fantastic.

Kaleido Star - very cute OP/ED songs and lots of happy music throughout the series.

Tsubasa - Reservoir Chronicle had some good BGM that I liked, and I loved all Makino Yui's songs.

All Memories Off series had great BGM in my opinion But they're games. Their OVAs had good music too tho.

I liked EVERYTHING in Utawarerumono, but I'm biased to liking it so yeah.

I liked most of the "Bleach" OP and ED.

Naruto-almost all the OP/ED are incredible. The only one that comes off as dullard and unoriginal is the very first opening.

Shakugan no Shana- The first opening is good, but the second KICKS ITS A$$ STRAIGHT OUT OF THE CONTINENT.:D

    Shaman King-Read above.

    Sonic X-Sonic Drive FTW
