So there's talk of re-releasing the film theatrically with all the cut footage put back in, which would mean the films' run time would be bumped up to 3 hours.

So if that did happen, who'd actually go see it?

    ...I probably would.

I'm good with the Maria Hill casting but Cobie didn't get much to do in the movie so I can't say how good her acting was. I thought Cobie's line delivery sounded funny (it's probably the Canadian ). I'm looking forward to seeing more of her in the deleted scenes.

Agreed. I don't know too much about the character but I doubt that Dushku could have pulled off a better Maria Hill than Cobie. Dushku's a bit one-note. She's excellent as the party/bad girl but she can't pull off much else.

I wouldn't call Eliza Dushku, Whedon's go-to actress. What's she been in apart from Buffy and Dollhouse?

Well I just mean it in that her (and Summer Glau) are actresses that he uses often.

I love Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill too, anyway.

That's true for every actor he works with. Amy Acker has been on four Whedon shows/movies and Adam Baldwin was Marcus Hamilton (Angel) before he got to be Jayne Cobb.

It's always fun to play spot-the-Whedonverse-alumni! I've only seen Avengers once, but so far I've got Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth and Enver Gjokaj (I was pleasantly surprised to see Victor from Dollhouse- he's such a good actor!).

Yeah, he's very much like Chris Nolan and has often collaborators. (Although, director-actor teams isn't a very exclusive thing haha)

Me. And just about most people who loved the film.

I've seen it three times, and never took a bathroom break once, because i didn't want to miss anything. don't think i could sit though a three hour movie.

I was thinking about ways to road-test further Avengers introductions/appearances, either in Avengers 2 or one of the franchise components. Include a running subplot (or separate sequence) where the existing Avengers get harangued by wannabes; and/or hold auditions (like Mystery Men, though not as goofy); or, like when Bendis had Cap recruiting the post-dis-Assembled New Avengers.

They also could send Fury and Hill out ala X-Men: First Class for a bunch of cameos that would essentially be advance screen tests for future characters. Namor: "Fork You!" Captain Marvel: "No, really, my name is Marv Vell." Henry Pym: "I can shrink down really small, but only if nobody's looking." Black Panther: "Guards? Take them away." Silhouette of unidentifiable but clearly identifiable guy in spandex stuck to building wall: "Sorry, I won't belong to a club that would have me as a member."

You could fit that in Iron Man 3, Cap 2 or Thor 2 or Hulk 3.

This actually sounds kind of amusing, though I think the reactions would range from: Namor: How dare you humans come and expect me the Great Namor to bother with your useless actions! Be gone!" to Panther: Ther may be some good in our allience. *Plots on spying*. I'm going to guess if anything the likely new additions will be.

Falcon: based on the fact they want him in the animated show, also they would need to give Panther his own movie. I can see Falcon showing up in Cap 2.
Carol Danvers: Her new Captian Marvel status should be brought up, also add an additonal power house to the team. Probably come in through Iron Man 3 via the military and space.
Mocking Bird: Bobbie can be a friend of Bruce that helps him out given her biochemist background. So she can easily be in Hulk 3
Wonder Man: Odd possiblity in Thor 2, maybe as a helper of Jane that winds up getting hit by something during the story and becomes this character?

Just a few ideas. Then Vision could come in Avengers easily, though you need the dang Ant man movie. I want my Hank and Janet.
