A+--Greatest Comic Movie Ever!
A--Excellent!
B---Very Good but could have been better
C---Meh, just okay
D--Very let down; even "Catwoman" was better!
F---Complete Failure; what happened??
That's a good point. It kind of rivals the first movie in the facet. The Captain America movie where as a skinny young man, he is deemed "not good enough" to join the army. Of course he finds a way to beat the odds, just like he finds a way to beat the odds with more obstacles in his way: being the future, and being the weakest Avenger in a lot of aspects.
I fully admit these are 2 rather popular and obvious comments, but...
1. Ruffalo is a stand-out as Banner.
2. I've read enough comics to know that this movie's biggest spoiler is not really a spoiler... if you know what I mean.
Why do I feel that Coulson for some reason will be back. I just think with Thanos popping up we might see Coulson again. However it might not be good for the Avengers.........

I loved the line when Banner was walking towards the huge alien and said something along the lines of, "here's the thing, I'm always angry" and instantly transformed and started the beat down.
Loved that SO much.
2 scenes I really liked:
1) The Scene where Natasha jumps on cap's shield and he throws her up to take over the alien vehicle
2) Ironman shooting Cap's shield to take out some aliens seemed like a nod to the Marvel Ultimate Aliance video game's Fusian abilities.
That was extremely awesome and I'm glad Whedon threw it in there. We all know how they use their powers individually due to each of their own movies, but we hadn't seen the combining of those skills until now.
Yea, their rivalry was transferred from the comics to the movie in a perfect way.
But I saw that scene on the helacarrier differently. Hulk was rampaging mindlessly, while Thor was just trying to get him under control. Basically like every meeting they have in comics. He flat out stopped the Hulk's blow and tried to reason with him, as Thor always does. He never looked like he was trying to seriously hurt him. Especially because they were surrounded by innocent people. He even smiled after getting punched in the face. Sure they landed blows on each other but neither ever looked seriously hurt. It was obvious they kept having Thor lose his hammer because with it, he's too much. Also, with one blow he cracked the cell Loki put him into, and he broke out of it with the next while falling through the sky. That cell was designed to hold and kill the Hulk.
As for the "big brother" part -- pleeease. Don't patronize us Thor fansHe hit him because he knows he can take it. Because he feels the rivalry. Because he's got a chip on his shoulder for Thor smacking him around and being the only one that can match him. Thor = bigger brother in your analogy.
You can argue for a slight physical edge for the Hulk, but Thor was clearly more powerful in both movies.
LOL! I was waiting for a Thor fan to chime in!
I respecfully disagree with your assessment. However, instead of derailing this thread in a never ending argument, we'll just have to agree to disagree.
I think we both agree though that this was a great movie....and a wonderful showing for all the characters involved!
(p.s.- I *am* a big brother, and I would always punch or kick my little brother when he least expected it....just to remind him, you know, of who was boss. In case he forgot)
What is good about it is you could see it either way.
Before the fighter jet shows up, depending on your point of view, Hulk was either beating Thor around the H-carrier or Thor was matching Hulk blow for blow.
But Hulk did one shot the Space Whale/Ship thingy and took the alien salvo without any damage.
I hope Coulson does NOT come back. Don't get me wrong, I loved the character....but I think it was important for him to die. Afterall, he did say "This would have never worked if they didn't have something....." and I assume the last part was going to be "to avenge". Perfect line.
Yes but honestly, those things were dropping like flies Lol. A whole swarm of alien ships were destroyed when Thor used his lightning. And if Hulk one shotted the thing, we both know Thor's hammer could as well. We all know what we saw from the Hulk was pretty much what Hulk does, but what we saw from Thor was maybe 50% of his full abilities and power. Also, Thor never looked hurt either except that little blood when Loki stabbed him. Don't get me wrong, Hulk stole the show, I like him, but it was obvious Thor was pulled back a bit so Hulk could shine.
@ graffiX, nah dude, it's not derailing -- we're discussing the movie and scenes from it. It's all good. However you want to see the helacarrier scene, I still stand by my statement: You can argue for a slight physical edge for the Hulk, but Thor was clearly more powerful in both movies. The sheer versatility of his powers is enough to lock that down. Hulk fans often forget that Thor always fights Hulk in Hulk's element, trading blow for blow in a fist fight -- but Hulk never fights Thor in Thor's element. Because he can't.
I keep thinking about how awesome this movie was, and in my head I hear the very distinct, high-pitched sound-effect of Iron Man's blasters.
I don't mind it at all :)

Yep, they know at least where one Avenger is, since Stark isn't exactly a wall flower. I wasn't really all that impressed by the Council and their 'intelligence.' I'm also wondering who they are supposed to correspond to?
This would be GREAT!
