Nope, SHH have updated- he was misquoted. He said the chances of a Marvel Team-Up movie were astronomical, NOT an Avengers movie.

If this is ever done, I really hope Hawkeye is in it. I just think he will come off as a much more interesting and cool character to non-fans. Nothing against Hank and Janet, but if they were the only other Avengers with the big 3, I don't know how badly I'd want to see the movie.

Default Zak Penn says 'Avengers' depends on 'Hulk' and 'Iron Man'

    http://www.comics2film.com/index.php?a=story&b=31759

"'The Avengers' is a project in the future," says Penn, "That's the best way to put it until 'Iron Man' and 'The Hulk' come out. I haven't talked to Marvel about it in awhile because I think that the best way to do it is to put together a movie that uses all the characters and so they probably want to see how the movies do and figure that out first."

Default Wasp cast for Avengers movie?

    http://community.livejournal.com/ohn.../27804727.html

I am not a fan of her, but I am certain she could pull it off fine enough. I mean its only Janet, not a meaty role.
"What the industry desperately needs is innovation and even revolution—but not so much in the form of marketing ploys and doohickeys. What is needed is bold creative vision, excellent stories, and brilliant storytelling—in a word, entertainment. People used to love the characters and care desperately about what happened to them. That’s seldom true these days" -- Jim Shooter(2003)

    She reasonably looks the part.

And I don't think Wasp is the hardest role in the world to fill UNLESS they maybe decide to jump into the whole wife slapping thing (which I doubt they'd do for the first movei).

I think she's fine for the role.

eh why not, she's easy enough on the eyes.
the short haircut in the article makes the look seem workable.
and I could see RDJ flirting with her.

While I would think it's kind of early to be casting Avengers (especially since Thor, Iron Man 2, and Captain America are all coming first, though the latter will likely be developed concurrently), if they're setting up Ms. Van Dyne for a cameo in either Thor or Iron Man 2, then this could be a possibility.

Of course, the other possibility is that her husband is a comic fan and so the Marvel folks gave her a few freebies to take home. Especially since I think only one of those titles actually has Janet in it, and it's not the traditional Wasp we know.

But that wouldn't really explain why she's at Marvel in the first place....

there is the ant man movie she could appear in. Pesonally she reminds me more of Scarlett Witch than Janet but it isn't really that important.

Look at the X-Men films, they're not horrible, but there just too many characters that have an awesome backstory and history, but I didn't think most of them had half enough screen for them to show movie goers what they can really do.

I would love it if the did some thing like the new TMNT though. CGI but somewhat realistic. I'll comment more later. . .
X-men partially sucked because they were afraid of 'costumes' and embracing the comic medium, I think things under the Marvel studio banner don't have that problem.
