Nope, SHH have updated- he was misquoted. He said the chances of a Marvel Team-Up movie were astronomical, NOT an Avengers movie.
A+--Greatest Comic Movie Ever!
A--Excellent!
B---Very Good but could have been better
C---Meh, just okay
D--Very let down; even "Catwoman" was better!
F---Complete Failure; what happened??

"After all, John McCain's led a very Biblical life. Like his namesake Cain, he is not afraid to go negative on a brother. Like John the Baptist, he paved the way for the new Messiah, and like Moses, he takes advice from a Bush who is going up in flames."- Stephen Colbert
If this is ever done, I really hope Hawkeye is in it. I just think he will come off as a much more interesting and cool character to non-fans. Nothing against Hank and Janet, but if they were the only other Avengers with the big 3, I don't know how badly I'd want to see the movie.

"'The Avengers' is a project in the future," says Penn, "That's the best way to put it until 'Iron Man' and 'The Hulk' come out. I haven't talked to Marvel about it in awhile because I think that the best way to do it is to put together a movie that uses all the characters and so they probably want to see how the movies do and figure that out first."
X-Poster of the Year 2003--- the best there is at what i do ---
im excited to see this...got any trailers?
don't they have to cast the movie at least before they start showing trailers?

I am not a fan of her, but I am certain she could pull it off fine enough. I mean its only Janet, not a meaty role.
"What the industry desperately needs is innovation and even revolution—but not so much in the form of marketing ploys and doohickeys. What is needed is bold creative vision, excellent stories, and brilliant storytelling—in a word, entertainment. People used to love the characters and care desperately about what happened to them. That’s seldom true these days" -- Jim Shooter(2003)

She reasonably looks the part.
And I don't think Wasp is the hardest role in the world to fill UNLESS they maybe decide to jump into the whole wife slapping thing (which I doubt they'd do for the first movei).
I think she's fine for the role.
eh why not, she's easy enough on the eyes.
the short haircut in the article makes the look seem workable.
and I could see RDJ flirting with her.
The reactions in that blog post are really kind of insane.
While I would think it's kind of early to be casting Avengers (especially since Thor, Iron Man 2, and Captain America are all coming first, though the latter will likely be developed concurrently), if they're setting up Ms. Van Dyne for a cameo in either Thor or Iron Man 2, then this could be a possibility.
Of course, the other possibility is that her husband is a comic fan and so the Marvel folks gave her a few freebies to take home. Especially since I think only one of those titles actually has Janet in it, and it's not the traditional Wasp we know.
But that wouldn't really explain why she's at Marvel in the first place....
Wasp was a desperate housewife at one point. i can see it.
