I guess you believe that your rights as a fan outweigh the rights of the people who own that property? Peole who paid for that property?

Marvel ws not in a position 10 years ago to make rigid demands on a character like Namor. they cut what they believed was a reasonable deal, things change but the change could have been the other way also.

Is that five year provision in the Namor Contract? have you seen the contract? If that was in the contract Marvel would have regained the rights and there would be nothing to discuss

That's awesome. Thanks for the info. That should be exciting. I wonder, can they call him a mutant? For that matter, can Marvel make an X-Men movie with new invented mutants?

He actually did less amazing things than Black Widow.
People somehow missed the running, the leaping, the gymnastics, and the fight moves? The picking up the freaking boxing bag like it was filled with feathers? The busting of the bag across the room? The impeccable aim when throwing? The jumping out of the freaking airplane, Gods and Metal Men be damned? The withstanding Thor's Hammer? The surviving a point-blank bomb blast?

You know, Johnston was criticized for showing him as TOO strong in the previous movie. God, I could only imagine what some of you would be saying if Cap was shown throwing someone around in THIS movie, too.

It sucks but also we gotta remember without the money these studios gave Marvel years ago to gain the rights to Spider-Man, X-Men, and FF Marvel wouldn't have had the ability to build theses films. That means no Avengers.

Does anyone know if Marvel gets any money from FF, X-Men or Spider-Man?

It's pretty amazing to me that Avengers is so good, considering FF, X-Men and Spider-Man are the strongest properties they have. The studios have gold in their hands.

Yeah Cap was legitimately shown to be superhuman. He kicked that table knocking over a few aliens. Literally had several feats a normal human could not have done

"If it's all the same to you, I'll have that drink now." Now those are words you say when you are going out.

I just saw the movie, and it was GREAT. The fact that they actually balanced the characters so well was perfect. I do hope by the next movie they add some more heroes to the Avengers...but I'm sure they will. It was smart of them to build up the bigger heroes in their own movies first. I'm wondering if it has ever been done before at all. I'm guessing they are saving Cap being a "man out of time" for the sequel to his own movie. I know Sam Jackson has signed to play Fury in 9 movies starting with Iron Man 2. Avengers is like number 4 of that contract. There will be a sequel to this for SURE; especially with how well it is doing.

Even 2 days after the film came out, the tickets are still getting sold out (I had to buy a ticket for an hour later than when I wanted to see the film when I went to go get a ticket. And even then the theatre was packed. With so many people laughing and cheering, I did miss some lines that were said. There was a line when I was on my way out for the next showing. Marvel is really on their A Game compared to DC when it comes to establishing more heroes. I'm sure that the general public could name more Marvel heroes than they could DC as DC/WB tends to use Batman (my favorite hero) as a crutch. However if there is one superhero series that Marvel needs to take from the studio that holds its rights and redeem, it's the Fantastic Four...What they did to Doom is just...just....*runs out of room crying*

Back to the Avengers. I actually had to look up who Thanos was at the end as I am more of a DC person... The post credits scene was funny; I have to say I didn't expect that at all.

I choose to think of these people as unpleasable hardcore fanboys that could never be satisfied with any film adaptation ever.

"What the hell! You people are enjoying the avengers for the wrong reasons! You're the reason why it SUCKS! You should have spent your money supporting a correct adaptation!!!!"
Well, Upon my 4th viewing today (yeah, would a hater see the movie 4 times in 3 days? I've also bought both soundtrack albums and a new Avengers T-shirt. Yeah, I'm a hater, all right.), I noticed Nat was touching her inner ear when talking. But I do think Steve is without an earpiece late in the battle. It's okay, though. A viewer also has to suspend a lot more disbelief about how Thor came to know all that he does about Loki's plan (we can make all kids of assumptions about Heimdall, but he's not in this movie) and somehow is able to locate Loki out of the blue but has no idea where the cube is. :) But my imagination is filling in those details, and the movie is so thrill-a-minute that the audience doesn't care. We obsess because we love these characters and want to see them done right. And, for the most part, Marvel Studios has done just that.

Anybody else think it would be a great homage to the comics if Thanos was established in Iron-Man 3?(Thanos first appeared in a Iron-Man issue)

At this point, no, because he already made his debut in Avengers.

I meant his lack of experience against Gods and Aliens right now in movie time. That was his first time against enemies at that level. I'm sure in Avengers 2 he'll be doing more damage.
