    Default Teen Titans Trades

Ive just picked up the teen titans trades 1-4 and i was wondering what other trades to pick up to be up-to-date with the series, and fully enjoy it. Is there other trades on single members of the Titans? Should i pick up the infinite crisis trade?
    Thanks in advance

The Insiders (covers #24-26 and the issues of The Outsiders that cross over)
#5: Life and Death (#29-33 and Annual #1)
#6: Titans Around the World (#34-41, out in the next month or so)

I don't think #27-28 are covered in any of the trades... which is just as well since they were pretty awful.

Also, if you were ever curious to get back to the Titans' roots, their most important "classic" story is reprinted in "The Judas Contract". Even though it was published in the 1980s, the reprecussions of this storyline are still being felt in the current title.

The Titans of Tommorow was pretty good. It tells how the Titans travel to a dark future.

I'm pretty sure he'd already have that if he picked up the first four.

Yes, but the Judas Contract covers all the biggest and best done moments. Terra Incognito, in particular, seemed like a pretty useless trade to me unless you really wanted to backtrack after reading the Judas Contract to see how things got rolling. Terra's character (both sides of it) are introduced quite well in the Judas Contract.

Aside from the teen titans group is there any other recent trades that explain the origins of some of the teen titan characters? Eg. robin or superboy?

Well, I dunno how much you know about the DCU, but unless you're pretty familiar with it's characters and their histories/Crisis of Infinite Earths, I wouldn't suggest it right off the bat. It throws in a lot of information in a pretty short ammount of time (7 issues) and it won't have as big of an impact if you don't have any connections to the characters. If you are pretty familiar with the DCU, then I suggest you pick up Crisis of Infinite Earths, first, if you can/haven't read it yet.

Well, you probably won't find too much luck there, considering: Superboy is a product of the 90s, circa Death of Superman. And Robin? Well, it depends which one you're talking about, i.e. Tim Drake, Jason Todd, or Dick Grayson. Either way, there is a pretty good ammount of material explaining their orgins; nothing recent I can think of though...

Not sure what volume it is, but the Beast Boys and Girls trade was a fun read and it explores Gar Logan's origin and how he got his powers.

It seems odd that #27 is not in this TPB, especially since it was the second part of a two-part story. Does anyone know why this is?

DC just reprinted the interlude of The New Teen Titans #26 which introduces Terra; they did not reprint the whole storyline.

Marv Wolfman & George Perez spent the better part of 2 years building up Terra. Therefore, I find Terra Igcognito to be just as important The Judas Contract. Without the build-up of such a storyline, The Judas Contract is hollow.

The Teen Titans Archives hardbacks 1 thru 3 are excellent . They reprint the special sneak preview from DC Comics Presents , issues 1-20, annual # 1 and the Talse of the New Teen Titans mini . These issues introduce the characters of Raven , Cyborg and Starfire , and reinvent Robin , Wonder Girl , Kid Flash and Changeling for the modern age .These issues are where the modern Titans came from , and are among the best comics ever done imo , by the best Titans creative team imo , Wolfman /Perez.These stories set up the Titans enemies Trigon , H.I.V.E., the Terminator , Fatal Five . The mini series gives the origins of Changeling , Raven , Cyborg and Starfire . If you want to know the origins of the Titans these are the books to read !
I do recommend Terra Incognito to give you the build up for the Judas Contract ,and the Terror of Trigon is a rematch against Trigon all those tpbs are also by Wolfman /Perez .
Also you might look into tracking down the Young Justice tpb , which is also crucial to the latest incarnations of the Titans .
The tpb JLA/Titans:Technis Imperative reforms the Titans ( again ) .Devin Grayson does the writing , and Phil Jimenez does gorgeous art , a worthy successor to Perez.
