Default Who is the new Ventriloquist?

So far we know that there is a new Ventriloquist.

    she's a girl (woman).

    Has blonde hair.

says she has a lot in common with scarface

and batman seems to know her.
    but just can't place it.

i can only think of two people who would fill this role or have need to fill it.

so lets discuss the possible identidy of the new ventri and scarface.

    All replys welcome,

Leslie Thompson was an old hag. Any reason why she cant be some new character called Sugar? Kind of makes things pretty easy and simple.

If Batman is hinted to have known her, it must be because of something.

    Some possibilities:

Harley Quinn (it's Paul Dini at work here, after all).
Lady Clayface? (It doesn't make much sense, though).
Jane Doe from Arkham Asylum: Living Hell (hey, if Great White Shark can make a comeback...).
Um, I don't know... the Magpie? You can say she has a something in common with Scarface since they both were killed by Tally Man and often seen as a joke before that.

The scar on her face is important b/c she said that Batman would remember her by it. My guess is that Wesker had a sex change operation or she's a relative of his. He would recognize her b/c she looks like a female Wesker.

Why did they kill off Wesker? Did the writer just feel it was time for a change or did he not like Wesker?

I think she's a new character. Just because Batman regonizes her doesn't mean she is an established character.

The problem is, didn't they show Wesker's rotting corpse?

I'm kinda drawing blanks on long-lost female Batcharacters with scars on their faces. Hmmm...

yeah detective comics, paul dini (batman tas and LOST) is writing alot of self contained single issues. i recommend them.

he has a new villain every story.

I'll start picking it up again i stopped after last years Crazy town (or what ever the flying flip it was called) story it bred the pants clear off me. but if batsDC is going to keep with continuity i'll join in.

PS Batman needs to get back to the adopting tim story line and fast Grotesk is a waste of good story space

Jason Todd's real mom. She was a "puppet" for the Joker, so she could relate to Scarface, and somehow, she survived that explosion, or materialized from another timeline, or . . .

Oh, did you say Dini was writing this? I thought it was Loeb. Sorry.

    She WAS blonde, though . . .

She could be Black Mask's old squeeze, Circe. After her death, didn't Black Mask talk to a mannequin like she was Circe for a while (or something like that)? I guess that's kinda similar to Scarface, in that both were talked to as dummies....

And speaking of mannequins - has Manakin ever appeared post-Crisis? I suppose the new Ventriloquist could be her...but I reeeeeeeeeally doubt it.
